For the record, there are more than idle rumblings and calls for Abbott to take various measures, such as throwing wide open enlistment in the state guard; sending in state police and Rangers; mass deputizing of the citizenry; mustering militias across the state … basically opening border efforts to all citizens who can pass a basic background check and are legally cleared to own a firearm.
Not saying any of those things will happen, but Texas isn’t solely relying on the National Guard—tho I firmly believe many of those folks would side with Texas.
