Your comments make no fricking sense.

Bucs haven’t stopped Lions in last 3 drives. This defensive effort has nothing to do with the missed conversion attempt.

I don’t understand the logic in going for 2 there

They are figuring they will need two touchdowns either way. If you go for two now and make it you can win with the second touchdown. If you miss it you still have a chance to tie with a two point conversion on the next touchdown. If they don't score another touchdown they are losing either way. I can see the logic for doing it. I can see the logic for not doing it. Look at it this way if you make the two point conversion you only have to stop Detroit once on defense. If you play for the tie by kicking it you have to stop Detroit on defense once in regulation and again in overtime. The 31 points on the scoreboard for Detroit suggests that will be tough to do.
I think that was the right call but it also kind of goes against the way you typically look at this situation.

That penalty was so dumb. Not defending player but why even call that when the stakes are so high?

Because then you either win or lose by making it at the end. The Bucs haven’t lost by missing it.

They decreased the odds of winning by missing the 2 pt because the odds of making a 2 pt conversion are less than making an XP

How is it any different down 7 instead of 8?

The capability and ease of scoring 7 compared to 8 and the psychology of that.

Buccs just got stopped going for 8, just happened, within the past 10 plays

Puts extra pressure on the team to have to convert a 2 point conversion if they score again. It’s already a tough situation being down 2 TDs prior to that score. Kick the XP now, make a decision at the end whether to tie it or go for the win if you manage to score again

I’m not saying I fully agree with the decision, even knowing the math. There’s factors with human beings that can’t be measured.

However, having said that, your post so undersells a million factors. You know what is hard to do? Score two TDs and then going into overtime and scoring again! This eliminates the second part. You get the first two point conversion and you’re WINNING THE GAME if you score, not tying.

That’s different than going for one on the first TD and then going for two on the second TD as then if you don’t get the first two point conversion, you lose the game. This way, you get two two-point conversion attempts and only need to make one.

Bucs made their first stop in the last three possessions

Going for two ruined the lions offensive momentum. Great momentum coaching by the Bucs

Collinsworth explained it perfectly. It’s just like true shooting % in basketball.

Steph curry corner 3 at 67% is more efficient than a LeBron dunk at 98%.
