I think we should celebrate Doug Willams day as the first real brother to win the Superbowl. Superbowl XXII.

Interesting that it hasn’t been played since the last presidential election according to your quote.
Nah it was played at last year’s SB too.

Take a stand America! End wokism. Is that the buzzword we still use?
I am sure you believe blacks have special needs & need their own special moment, but I am not bigoted or about segregated anthems. I am about inclusion, so I will just tune in to watch our country’s National Anthem that represents all of us.

That got me thinking; what is the Cajun national anthem? “Jolie Blon”? In any case, they should add it to the list. Bobby Hebert may be the highest profile, but there have been a few Cajun players in the NFL.
Or not do the separate anthems bullshite. That’s always an option.

The only time I was ever in an arena that did that I stay seated for it. Best course of action is to ignore it or boo.

So is the Russian national anthem. But there’s no reason to play it as if it’s the USA national anthem.

Yup. And as long as idiots continue to watch that league, buy tickets, merchandise, etc., they’ll keep on doing shite like that.

But it was a beautiful hymn before it was hyped as the Black National anthem. The pandering came in when the NAACP decided to label the song as the Negro National Anthem.
Per Wiki: "Written from the context of African Americans in the late 19th century, the hymn is a prayer of thanksgiving as well as a prayer for faithfulness and freedom, with imagery that evokes the biblical Exodus from slavery to the freedom of the "promised land." Premiered in 1900, "Lift Every Voice and Sing" was communally sung within Black American communities, while the NAACP began to promote the hymn as a "Negro national anthem" in 1917."
As beautiful as the song is, it should be reserved for special occasions and not trotted out every time the real National Anthem is played.
