Hawk is great but saying he’s better than Trey right now is just criminal

It's just episode #543 of people failing to understand the importance of defense. It happens almost every day on this board.

Trey is better on the move. Hawkins is a better pure shooter. Both are excellent and I'm glad both are Pels

People dont like the comp but they are early Curry and Klay

Look at Klays game its almost the same as Trey

And well there isnt much that Curry does that Hawk cant. The question is once the volume goes up, will the consistency still be there? That's what seperates Curry from everyone else.

You can be considered a top 5 player in this league and not be good on defense.

Hawkins has been worth more defensive win shares than Trey, but I digress

The biggest difference between Hawkins and Curry is handle and range.

Hawkins' isn't bad IMO, but Curry's is one of the best in the game.

Also, we've yet to really see Hawkins bombing from very deep. Last night he hit a long one, but he's usually right on the line. Curry can pretty much consistently hit anything inside halfcourt.

Current state of affairs on Pels talk:

1. Trade BI
2. Cut CJ’s minutes for Dyson
3. Hawkins is better than Curry

Trey is mostly just a spot up guy, while Hawk can get his shot off in so many different ways. I would say undoubtedly yes.

I do want to see a small lineup of Dyson, Hawk, Trey, Herb, Z

Redick is his absolute floor if he doesn't improve on anything else. His ceiling is pretty high. Redick didn't come into the league with the movement. He developed it in the league. Hawkins came into the league with high level advanced movement skills. That's pretty insane to think about.

but you could tell right before it that he was starting to press a little bit.
I don't recall that, what games would that have been?

He lost his minutes starting with the Sacto IST game.

The 6 games before that he averaged 25mpg, and put up 12.5ppg on 44.2% from the field and 43.2% from 3.

They're not the same at all.

Klay has always been a movement shooter. Hawkins would be more comparable to Klay.

Trey and Klay's comp is that they both shoot the 3 well, but that's where it ends. Their games are completely different.
