Wow. You would think he did a great job.

Great choice to bring Bob Version 1.0 back to the fold.
(He never really left though)

welcome to capitalism where you don't need to do a good job to make a lot of money.

Cronyism.
Iger is objectively bad at his job from a capitalistic standpoint. Were he being judged by the market, he'd have been fired already. That he still has his job, and is still being paid like he is, is evidence of Cronyism at play - not capitalism.

If this was about capitalism, Disney would be making a lot more money and there wouldn't be talks of a shareholder coup.

Iger made less than Disnely lost in 2023

He should make as much as he can, because if Disney has another year like 2023 there will be a shareholder revolt

Bob took over as CEO in 2005. The stock price had a low of $25 in 2005. The stock price was about $150 when he “retired” end of 2021. He did a fantastic job in that time, and he’s being paid huge money because of that record

Cronyism is not capitalism. Capitalism would mean Iger gets a negative salary.

You don’t know shite about the market or capitalism. A publicly traded company’s CEO has one major job - stock price. And Iger has objectively been great in that respect during his full time as CEO of Disney. $25 to $150 during his first run as CEO

What projects make a splash for Disney this coming year? Everything they put out is the same formulaic trash with the same tired DEI tropes baked within the story.
Are little girls loving Rey or She-Hulk yet?

I think Iger is trying to slow the bleeding. I don't think it's possible to right the ship in a year or 2 with a huge corporation like Disney.

Per your own admission, Iger 2.0 is being paid for the results of his tenure as Iger 1.0.
He's objectively bad at his job in this second iteration. The company, which produces entertainment content, is being rejected in the marketplace. I'm sure his earnings calls are a lot of fun right now.
Past performance =/= future results, chief.

We know the entertainment arm of Disney has taken a giant dump over the past 4+ years, but how are the parks doing? I read they were at capacity or close to it over the holidays. Seems people are still spending money there.

He's the wound that caused the bleeding in the first place.

You think half the players in the nba make north of $32 million a year?

I wish I could get paid that much to run a historic brand into the ground.
