Curious….
My suspicions are someone through $$$ promises & he said YES
Told BK he’s entering the portal
Goes to sign w the team and then the numbers change
Has anyone heard (no pun) anything?

i just hope Lance has a realization in the same vein that Corey seems to have had.
Fingers crossed.

I could honestly not care less. This kid made his bed, now he's gonna learn a tough life lesson that decisions have consequences. His "camp" is as much to blame if not more for giving him shitty advice being grown ups and having more perspective.

I am on the opposite side of this. Would welcome him back! Kids and families are swayed by money. It is not a crime. I don't know the family's financial situation, but am sure some big bags were thrown at them.

Do you have any context here? Was his bio previously taken down or something? If it’s just been there all al along and they never took it down in the first place then it seems to me that it obviously doesn’t mean anything.

There are 2 or 3 OL in THIS class who could be as good as Heard. BTW, I haven't seen enough of Heard in SEC play to judge him. I do remember in one game he got beat on one pass rush and got called for holding on another. As I've said before, I go by the old Gerry Dinardo phrase that "the ones you lose in recruiting {transfer portal here} don't hurt you. The ones that kill you are the ones you get who don't pan out."

I was just replying to the OP's very non-specific thread title.

Could be a lot of things.
Could be that he’s dead set on LT.
Could be that someone offered him LT
Could be that someone offered him some bags.
Could be that we offered him some bags too. Its legal.
Could be that he’s just waiting to time the market. It may work out. It may not.
I don’t want to think about injuries to our OLine. And we know that Kelly has portaled and recruited well.
But we won’t miss a beat if any G/OT goes down….even just for an important series. Hes good and yall know it.

I don’t understand this perspective. Kid is a potential cornerstone piece, why wouldn’t you care about having him on the team?
I know we’re looking good at OL even without him but think about the difference he makes in terms of both our baseline expectation and our ceiling: For 2024, he’s the difference between having the best OL in the country—the type of OL that can legitimately take over games—with zero holes and elite depth, and having a good OL with some question marks and decent depth. And with the way we’re turning over the WR position, an elite, best-in-the-country OL will go a long way toward maintaining an elite offense overall. For 2025, having him is the difference between needing our plethora of strong developmental options to produce 3 solid starters and needing our developmental options to produce 3 solid starters AND a cornerstone/difference maker. Starting off with a star already in place is enormously valuable.
Basically, having Lance heard all but locks us—barring a developmental collapse—into an elite offensive line for the next two years. Not having him not only takes away a guaranteed strength but puts a lot of pressure on our development

Respectfully disagree.

The way this kid has acted he’s probably trying to do some hardball negotiating with teams that have interest. Might backfire on him or might not. I’d be fine if he decides to stay. He’s a great run blocker but needs to work on his feet in pass protection.

I mostly agree and want Heard to stay. He would be in the mix to start next year, and likely a key piece for 25.
We need to see how the center and right guard spots work out before calling us the best. Chester looks good but is unproven at center. We are thin behind him with Martinez leaving. Frazier at right guard is good not great, and likely would have been moved to backup with Heard on the team. Several of our talented recruits from the past couple of cycles could get PT sooner than later. Oline is a strength, but a little early for calling us the best.

Who is better-Lance heard or Emory Jones?

Statements like this just don't mean anything. Is it technically true that there are other guys who could turn out to be as good or better than Heard? Sure. Is it also true that that's unlikely? Yes. The fact is that player projection is uncertain, so you can almost always say "X guy *could* be as good as Y guy" when you're dealing with two blue-chip players. But that doesn't mean Heard isn't the best OL prospect on the team among the guys who'll be asked to fill the remaining starting spots after campbell/jones/dellinger.
Heard is/was the highest rated OL recruit on our roster, and we've seen/heard absolutely nothing to suggest that his development isn't on track with what we expected. The fact that we came into the 2023 season with him in the mix for snaps--on THAT OL--says a whole lot about the staff's opinion of him. The idea that losing one rep and getting called for one hold--as a true freshman--is some type of indictment on his ability or his future is just the peak of unseriousness. Campbell and Jones weren't perfect starting out, either, and they're lookin pretty damn good right about now.

Lol yeah, because the landscape of college football is so similar to what it was back then. /s
