You figured this wouldn’t be a problem for long with Davis AND Peoples locked up.

I didn’t think that someone could be released from their NLI unless it was the head coach that changed schools. I don’t know if it also applies when an assistant coach changes schools

Texas would have to grant his release. It wouldn't make sense to not grant it considering he can just transfer next season.

According to 247 he has an offer list of 60 schools! Yet 247 lists Robinson as a 3 star. Goes to show you to follow offer lists, and what coaches want these kids over “recruting experts”

ha ya beat me to it!! Per On3 D’antre Robinson's reason for requesting release is Bo Davis leaving for LSU and they said LSU and Florida are the teams to watch

If he wanted he could transfer in the spring portal like you said. Id assume he can play for an SEC school next year also since Texas is still technically Big 12 until fall sports start.
