Don't they fly private in a plane with sleep pods?

Hawk took a nap on the bench last night. He should be ready.

Pelicans got bullied by the NBA into playing their stars last night.
They still lost and now get the luxury of playing again, 12 hours after they land.

Uh, no. No sleep pods. Like almost all NBA teams, they fly in a chartered commercial jet. So, some smallish Delta or United plane gets reserved just for their flight.

No chance Zion plays. Probably not BI either.

When do we find out who is not playing ?
Like the NFL, you have to release a injury report certain amount of time before game

I got to Denver last Friday at 1:00 am and was skiing the next morning in Vail. And I mostly sit on my old arse at a desk all day below sea level.
We supposedly have great depth. Depth isn’t necessarily an asset in the playoffs. This is where depth should help you out.
And if Luka sits, you have to win.

Quite possibly the dumbest thing I’ve seen posted on Pels Talk

You lucked out by not having to guard Luka Doncic & Kyrie Irving that morning.

In fairness, no one is guarding Luka tonight.

I also got to San Diego at 3 am and was working out next morning. And I mostly sit on my old arse at a desk all day. Lol
The fact you think these situations are remotely comparable to playing professional competitive basketball is an absolute joke.
And now they make a lot of money comments- I make a lot of money too but my company is not going to wear me out, exhaust me and expect peak performance either.

What should be the appropriate amount of time off?
I don't know if they can eliminate back to backs all together. They could try to gear them towards home stands. But that's difficult for traveling teams. Plus there has to be certain dates to keep in mind. If possible, I'm guessing they want every team to play twice a weekend (Friday-Sunday). So how could they arrange it better?

The flexing of games for espn/abc needs to stop where you’re changing the timinh of a game. Its just too difficult and not worth it. I think thats what honestly threw off all the timings.
Other then that, its a deeper discussion of back to backs and the need to have them. It seems like players hate them and fans get agitated because they’re not seeing the players at their optimal competitive performance.

I don’t actually, but I’m also not going to continually white knight for people whose job it is to play basketball. This is their job, and this demand isn’t new to it.
The 95-96 bulls played 23 back to back games during the regular season. That year Jordan, kukoc, Harper and Kerr played 80 or more of the games. Pippen played 77. Precedent is comparable. It’s just a matter of different expectations. Every aspect of today’s nba should make this situation easier for today’s players to perform. There are fewer B2Bs, travel is smoother, nutrition and recovery science is better (in theory).

This needs to stop. I know in some people’s minds this seems recent. But this was 28 years ago. The game is ten times faster, the pace is different and athletes are different. I respect that era but this era isn’t remotely the same. A team from 28 years ago is not a comparable precedent. Its crazy you would think that.
Im not white knighting anyone but Im not comparing them to myself or vice versa. Its a dumb comparison both ways.
