Nutt got fricking Arkansas to two SEC Championship games.
need to put an asterisk next to one of those 2
Alabama had a better record but was not eligible for the game in '02.
then he was in a 3 way tie for 2nd place (won tie breaker).
So in reality, the only 2 teams he had a better record than was the 2 Mississippi schools.
Let's not act like that's some miracle achievement.

Houston Nutt!
If we would have hired him we likely get Saban back in 2007. So I would have rather Houston Nutt over Les Miles.

Mel Turner, perhaps?
lol with a line in his contract that he can only facetime with females, not traditional calls.

The resources at LSU vs Ar-kansas and Ole Miss are a little different

Not bad. I have read worse.

I remember. So glad we hired Miles at the time and not Jouston Nutt.

and do you know why he "recomended " REVEREND NUTTSACK?
because he KNEW there MIGHT come a day he would want to return and the REVEREND would be kicked to the curb for saban.
sadly, he wanted to return but we kept miles. i know it was tough to run off a 11-2 and 11-2 coach but things coulda been worked out. what needed to be done was laid out before. sure, maybe bad in the public eye....we coulda claimed contract stipulations and no solution so give miles his money and let him walk among other ways.

So look, ye lowly, and despair, For no hero will fill his chair, Accursed he will bear no ring, Who sits the throne after the King

Hopefully he recommends him to Bama and they agree

Nutt made maxiumum use of the limited talent at his disposal
Nutt won with Os players at Ole Piss.
funny story... i said this after the LSU ole miss game way back when and a table of Ole Miss girls got offended when i said it...so i went and brought htem shots... turns out it was Hannah Nutt, Houstons daughter and her sister. I got her number.... and nothing came of that.

I'll never forget the signs during Arky and OM games back in the day: Let's Bust a Nutt!

He had 9 years of pretty decently sustained success at freaking Arkansas, though. I suspect Miles's recruiting "prowess" was little more than working with the program Saban had left here. Working with what we have is about as apples to oranges as you can get when compared to Ark and Ole Miss.
Look, I'm not lamenting that we didn't get Nutt when Saban left. I just don't think suggesting him amounted to some horrible act of "sabotage" by Saban to sink the program on his way out the door. That's much sillier than the idea that Nutt could have possibly had some sustained success here.

Les coached down.
Nutt coached up.

Nutt probably has a decent head-to-head against Les considering how vast the talent gap was during his tenure at both Ark and OleMiss.
Les is 4-3 against Nutt in that 7 year period.
In one of the Nutt wins, all Les had to do was know how much time was on the clock.

Saban was 3-2 against Nutt at LSU as well.
It’s funny all the Nutt huggers don’t realize Nutt at Arkansas was basically Miles at OSU. Bring excitement to a program and knock off the big dogs once a year and basically be a thorn in their sides.
But Les could actually recruit, Nutt couldn’t. It isn’t complicated.
Of course Saban wasn’t trying to sabotage our success by recommending him. He battled us every year and Saban respected him.
Saban can eat a dick for costing us Spurrier by dragging his feet and leaving so late in the process.

He also finshed 4-4 or worse in SEC games 10 times in 14 seasons as an SEC coach. Miles only did that twice in 12 seasons.
