What’s expensive now will be little money in 24 months.

Woody paid Lambo prices for a Fisher Studebaker
Just because you pay big money doesn't mean you got a good deal or a quality product.
Woody throws big money at problems.
Sometimes he is right, sometimes he is wrong, but he is ALWAYS expensive.
At one time, i thought he might be the best AD in the country. I no longer think that.

We spend 2 million per year on Matt House
If you want to talk about somebody being overpaid, it's your boyfriend. House wasn't worth 2 mill, but Orgeron wasn't anywhere close to being worth what he was paid.

coaches are paid wayyy too f’n much money for the jobs they do. I don’t care if it’s nick saban. They are paid too much money.
Coaches get payed based on their ROI.
If the investment is good, the school makes millions hand over fist. They don't, the coach gets fired. Rinse and repeat.

Then what should he have done? Give us specifics. Should he not have hired Baker? If you believe he should have, what's the max price he should have hired him for?
If not baker at all, who should he have hired, and at what price?
Y'all keep repeating this same nonsense, but not one single person can answer the question.

Honest question, is Blake Baker considered the best defensive coordinator in the country? I haven’t seen him at the top of any list.
And we just let the offensive coordinator of the #1 offense in the country walk because Notre Dame bid more than we were willing to pay. So the OC earned the right to be the highest paid, and we balked. But we are bringing in a new DC and paying him on what we hope he can be.

Coaching salaries have been increasing drastically the last 15 years.

Who is on your list that was actually attainable? And what should we have paid them? Baker may not be the best DC in the nation, but he was attainable. So give us your list, and what you think we should have paid to get him.

Do you know we weren't willing to match what ND paid him for a fact? Where you are from plays a big part in this, and it can't be ignored. Baker had pulls to LSU. Denbrock had pulls to ND. Show me where we weren't willing to pay Denbrock.

Honestly, I don't give a frick how much they pay him. Just give me someone that is competent.

The same with Baker and his wife coming back to Louisiana.

So true, and most on here want to pay unproven 17yr olds a bunch of money(not theirs also) to commit because other schools have offered more. The Hypocrisy is crazy. Mizzu was going to give him 2 mill we upped it to 2.5. But hey giving a mill to a 5* that is trying to leverage his payday against a rival school is money wise spent even though he hasn’t done a thing on the field, Makes sense right?!?

$2.5 million says “pretty much any DC in the country”.
They say the Michigan DC, Minter, is making $900,000 at Michigan. Every coach in America would take the near 200% increase in salary.
I’m not against Blake Baker at all. I’m just trying to understand the money spent. LSU keeps setting the market on coaches and we’ve been burnt many times in the past. Then we have a proven commodity in Denbrock, and we let him go.

So you named one? Do you think Kelly kicked the tires on Minter, and found out he wouldn't have been interested or maybe felt Baker was a better fit for LSU?
I don't know these things for a fact, but you don't know the nonsense you are spewing either. I'm also not crying about paying good money for a good DC. I think it's safe to assume that Kelly did his homework and made a decision for good reasons.

Who the frick cares
It’s not my money
It’s not your money
It’s rich people’s money.
They made the decision.
Don’t like it? Sounds like you need to find another team to root for.

It is weird make someone the highest paid coordinator when they’re not statistically a top 10 coordinator. It’s a good hire, just financially weird.

Aranda was paid $2.5 Million.

Are you related to the late Joe Dean, while I loved him as the color analyst for SEC basketball back in the 1970's and 80's when I really followed College BB, he stunk as AD at LSU. Did everything on the cheap, which is why LSU stunk in the 90's.
