Naw dude, their memory was an unreliable narrator until episode 6.

I have a photogenic memory and knew Navarro was on the right side of Wheeler when she pulls the trigger.

Didn't think it was him that was facing a different direction.

The only True Detectives this season were the ones who found Navarro’s sister in an hour, without ID, in the dark without being reported missing

Been saying this for two weeks...How in the hell did the coast guard (or whomever) find a body out in the frozen ocean in the middle of the night on Christmas eve during a blizzard, within hours of her disappearance, that no one knew she was missing. When Navarro went back to the rehab place, they didn't know she was gone or report her missing.

A show about Clark on the run and avoiding the Tuttles and a cult tied to them after the scientists finding something that could change everything we knew about the world would’ve been awesome.

Correct, it’s like they wanted to throw us curve balls to leave what happened in doubt but didn’t care whether it made any sense. Just awful writing.

Also how could Clark hear Annie’s screams from that bunker?

Well, one thing is certain: I will never trust this show again. I highly doubt they try another season after this disaster, but if they do, themetalreb will not be watching. Long live season 1, and to a degree, season 3. The others can go to Night Country forever.

There are about 500 variants that could have ben awesome.

Instead we got vigilante native cleaning women (who all live in the same house, apparently).

That was actually addressed by the writer through some Instagram comments that I cannot find right now. If I remember correctly, she said the body was found by a “fishing party”, as in a bunch of people having a party in a fishing boat.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the end of this season is going to leave me about as pissed off as I was many years ago sitting in a theater at the end of “Lady In The Water”. It sucked the whole way through but I kept telling myself, “Just wait until the end. It’s going to be awesome.” It most certainly wasn’t.

I was spot on with this prediction. Such a horrible season with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

Agreed. Hard not to get your hopes up though.

It's a disaster. But not for HBO...

quote:

True Detective: Night Country's reception is still mixed, which would suggest that the show is struggling to live up to the high expectations set by the very first. However, The Hollywood Reporter, True Detective: Night Country is averaging 12.7 million viewers across all streaming platforms, and has done so since its January 14 debut, making it the highest-rated season in True Detective's history.

quote:

According to The Wrap, True Detective: Night Country has a total of 12.7 million viewers, which is more viewers than any prior season. Viewership data was obtained from Nielsen and Warner Bros. Discovery, and are calculated as an average of views across HBO and Max.
Season 1 starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, which had 11.9 million viewers, was the original record holder.

The first episode of Night Country debuted to 2 million viewers and has seen a steady increase for each additional episode. Episode five, which aired early due to the Super Bowl, had 5 million viewers, helping Season 4 surpass the Season 1 record.

Season finale numbers aren't out yet but I'm sure they'll be good.

So the director has to clean up the massive hole outside of the actual confines it should be explained?

Maybe she will come back and tell us all the other things that weren't explained or made 0 sense

Yeah, it was an akward scene and horribly explained. All of her photos had been flipped in the files, but was confusing about her highschool picture too.

The way I figured it was…

They intended to just mirror/flip the autopsy photo of wheeler but they inadvertently flipped all of the photos in the evidence file and that led to the discovery of her injuries/birthmark being wrong.

Is that how she described a "fishing party"? Because a fishing party can refer to a fishing boat/people actually fishing (which would at least make some sense), not literally people partying on a fishing boat.

The scene reminded me of Rudy when the seniors walked into the coach’s office one by one.

i love how shitty the cops were in the series.

The cleaning ladies brought multiple cars and no one thought to check on the tire marks coming from the last foot prints of the frozen dudes?

a stunning lack of care put into this investigation

Well boys, I wish I could say it's been fun, but it simply hasn't. See everyone for the next trainwreck, maybe season 3 of yellow jackets.
