My guess is that what will be voluntary with compensation will at some point be coercion with no or insufficient compensation....

Should be considered a violation of the third amendment.

Yeah, not going to happen...

On somewhat of an interesting sidenote, a friend of mine in Jacksonville got into a fight with the board of the condo units and started buying up the units and turning them into section 8 housing just to piss them off

Would be prison-like. Cohabiting with psychos.

Those frickers in DHS would parse the shite out of that.
"They aren't soldiers, thus the Third Amendment doesn't apply (pay no attention to their military uniform)."

The government won’t force you to house them but the government will rent and purchase homes in and near your neighborhoods and pack them with illegal aliens.

I think this is an excellent idea and should be mandatory in every Sanctuary City

I’m incorrectly accused of treason on a regular basis.
What is described in the OP, however, arguably fits the definition of the charge:
Federal Crime of Treason | 18 U.S. Code § 2381 says, “Whoever, owing allegiance to the United States, levies war against them or adheres to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort within the United States or elsewhere, is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or imprisoned and fined, and incapable of holding any U.S. office.”

NY was already giving grants for homeowners to build apartments/tiny homes etc on their property. I said all along people should be careful accepting govt money for that because the government will eventually mandate who resides in them.
From the article though, this is especially ridiculous:

He did say, however, that the city would pay places of worship a nightly rate of about $125 for each asylum seeker – which is cheaper than the $380 it costs to put up a migrant household – including a family with kids or just single adults – in one of its shelter hotels.
If the private residence plan went ahead, it could mean New Yorkers are being paid more to host a migrant than a foster parent is given to raise a child in the Empire State. The state currently pays a daily allowance of $40 for children aged over 12 years, according to the Office of Children and Family Services.

I wonder how long before those of us with more than 5 acres of land will be told "No one needs that much land". Then the gov't confiscates the other land over 5 acres gives it to illegals....

I figure they’ll try to levy some sort of land tax that will cause the average Joe to have to forfeit their property at some point.

Plenty of empty federal land in Nevada. feds could build WW2 style barracks for the precious xiden* illegals to live in. Will have to truck in food and water.
Operation PaperClip German Rocket scientist lived like this after WW2 near Ft. Blister and look how they turned out.

That’s the purpose of the 2A—to protect against federal tyranny.

We are paying through our taxes to quarter these”soldiers”, seems like a violation of the third amendment of the US Constitution.
