Lazy response. Pick a team.

Highest ranked G5 gets an NY6. That was Liberty.

It gets to a point where you have to ask if the exposure the team gets by being in a New Year Six bowl is worth what these kids are going through today.

I am a Liberty fan, and I think they are a great team, but that is against the other G5 schools. Generally speaking, the results of the bowl games show that there is a pretty significant gap between the top Power 4 teams and the G5.

That said, it appears that the fans stuck around, and the players kept playing. Fortunately, I think Chadwell is the kind of coach who will have them ready to win their conference again next year.

As bad of a loss as it was, I wish I could've been there. Proud of what LU did this year in spite of the loss. Hopefully, we get some help on defense and have another strong year next year.

It’s a dumb “rule”…there are 20+ teams better than Liberty and they had no place being in the Fiesta bowl.

Hats off to Liberty! Your Team accomplished a rare feat that all g5 strive for…playing in a NYD bowl. Liberty has the backing, insane budget for g5, really nice facilities & great coach. I wish LaTech was in that position. Cheers to a stellar season.

It shouldve been top ranked g5 if in the top 20. If no top 20 g5 then it goes to the highest ranked team not auto slotted into a ny6.

Although with the way bowls are now it probably doesn’t matter anyway.

Then address the rule. I have stated multiple times that I wish Tulane would have beaten SMU and gotten the bid instead. Would have gladly gotten a lesser bowl and finished the season 14-0. Did not work out that way.

Despite the thrashing we took, the fans remained in their seats until the final whistle. Great atmosphere for Liberty University fans.

Liberty has no business being in this game.

I have no problem with Liberty. They had a great season, but they played in the worst conference in the country, and had the easiest schedule in all of college football. The committee used the "strength of schedule" and "eye test" bs against FSU. So, why was Liberty not treated the same. As someone stated, Memphis was third in the AAC and looked better by the "eye test" and played a tougher schedule than Liberty. So did SMU, and Tulane. Again, I'm not hating on Liberty just showing the hypocrisy in this age of college football. Don't give me they were undefeated and those three teams mentioned weren't, because we know how that goes.

Meh. Going to have to disagree with you on this. Memphis lost to two AAC teams that took beatings in their bowl games as well. Teams that were nowhere near as powerful as Oregon.

Wrong. MAC was worse. AAC wasn’t as far ahead as people believe. Very little difference between G5 conferences in 2023.

Probably true, but they dominated that schedule outside of one bad game against Sam Houston. The other people competing for that spot didn’t have a signature win either. SMU and Troy got curbstomped against their P5 opponents like Liberty did today. Both also lost their bowl games to weak opponents.

bullshite. the AAC is riding on reputation right now.

So did SMU, and Tulane.

Tulane didn’t take care of business. SMU was blown out by a pitiful TCU squad. What makes them pass the eye test? They are a bigger name. That’s it.

CUSA is bad dude. At the end of the year(that's what we go by right committee?) SMU, Tulane, and Memphis all looked better. SMU lost 28-11 to Oklahoma and 34-17 by TCU. Both of those games were winnable going into the 4th quarter. That's not a curbstomping. Memphis lost by 7 to Missouri. Tulane led Ole Miss to the middle of the 4th. Troy wasn't even in the conversation. This was my opinion before any bowl games. You can't judge squat off of them.

Maybe it is time to rethink G5 bowl bids. I have no issue with that.

Hopefully the beating given out by Oregon was enough to satisfy you.
