Should be a split title if FSU beats Georgia

To be clear, I don’t think they will. But I will be pulling for them. It’s a travesty they are not in the playoff. If FSU wins they 100% deserve to be called champions. If you don’t agree you just don’t like them.

Only if bama wins the CFP which they will.
FSU isn’t beating uga though so doesn’t matter

Well we’ll see, I don’t believe they will either but it wouldn’t surprise me all that much if FSU wins.

It’s a shame Texas took their place.

They should just claim it and hang a banner UCF style. Why not. Alabama got in over them for beating UGA. If Florida State does pulls off the same feat, then they're at least as deserving as Alabama right?

Have you not seen the opt outs on FSUs side? That game is gonna be a homicide

FSU might not score, mate

This game will be laughable.

So many have pulled out it almost seems like they'd have trouble fielding a team.

Sorry but that’s not how this works. Ever since 2003 LSU fans have told us that the AP poll is insignificant. There is no such thing as a “split title.” The only true champion is the winner of the agreed upon system. The CFP is the agreed upon system, so even if FSU is voted number one following the national championship game, it’s meaningless and the winner of that title game is the one true champion.

Maybe if they weren’t cowards and quit or opted out they’d have a chance. But I hope it’s a smearing.

To be clear, the winner of the four-team made for TV event is going to “claim” a National Championship.
To also be clear, the University of Alabama actively markets their “18” National Championships including selling merchandise with that number.
The 18 includes the 1941 “championship” awarded by the Houlgate system. Alabama was 9-2 that year and finished ranked 18th in the AP Poll.

That was true, until December 5, 2011 when the agreed upon system lost all semblance of credibility.
USC being snubbed in favor of Oklahoma in 2003 was a flaw in the system that was exposed.
2011, 2014, 2017, 2020 and 2023 were all about manipulating the event for TV ratings, not trying to truly decide the national champion on the field.
