Will Louisiana ever make a comeback as a state?

With a steadily declining population, growing welfare population, and increasing crime rate, will Louisiana ever make a comeback as being a desirable state for non-natives to live in?
Louisiana has a lot of super nice people who embrace its culture, but they all seem to be oblivious to the serious problems that have been plaguing the state for the past 20 years. No one seems to be serious about fixing anything, they just want to pretend that none of these problems exist.

Not until we locate this gentleman.

Louisiana is a poor welfare state. Not sure what you think can happen.

None of this will ever happen if we don’t get more jobs here

No. I mean, maybe in the year 4065, but no time soon.

No… it won’t.
But I can tell you from experience that you will miss the food if you move out of the south. That’s the only thing I miss. I do not miss overpaying 3X for insurance, and I certainly do not miss hearing about near daily murders in NOLA and BR. I also enjoy 4 full seasons in WNC, not really ever uncomfortably hot.
I do not miss the “Cultcha” either. I’m in BR tonight for a Christmas family gathering and I’m in “cultcha” shock.

I love my family but I absolutely hate being stuck here.

I often find myself asking the same question about Abyssinia.

I solved this problem by bringing my Cajun bride with me.

If you can’t be happy here you can’t be happy anywhere
My favorite are the folks on here who move someplace else where they don’t know anybody and no house is less than 450k for a 5k a year raise

Louisianas problems stem from the populist government of Huey Long and then the embarrassment of riches wasted by EWE and crew including the Perez faction. Without a major departing/reckoning of a segment of society that leeches off the govt, is responsible for the majority of crime, and has 0
respect for others or themselves, Louisiana will have a very hard time being the mecca it could be.

It's probably too far gone at this point.
Even Mississippi and Alabama have made more progress in the last 10 years than Louisiana.

Will it? I don't know. Can it? Absolutely, but it will require a complete change in politics and I am not sure how easy that will be.
No one can come here and do anything because every elected official that represents whatever areas they want to do business will have their hands out wanting their piece of the pie along with telling them if they do business here they will have no problem, they just need to contract their brother in law or cousin to do this part of the job. That's the problem in a nut shell. Elected officials try to milk anything they can out of whatever they can.
