Are Moon Pies one of the few items that have not succumbed to inflation?

Have been making my way through watching King of Queens and saw a few episodes of Doug packing them to bring to work. Came across one in a vending machine this morning. 85 cents and as big as my hand. Seems like they are bigger than I remember and only a few cents more expensive

I learned recently that there's a RC Cola-MoonPie Festival held in Bell Buckle, Tennessee every year. 10 mile and 5K races that morning as well. The next one is June 15th, 2024.

This wacky, fun for the whole family event celebrates the South’s original fast food – an ice cold RC Cola and a fresh MoonPie. Smiling visitors from all over the world (we can prove it cause there’s a “who travelled the furtherest contest!) stream into the downtown area where they find plenty of music, cloggers, weird but fun contests, MoonPie games, and a colorful parade just to name a few of the many things that occur throughout the day.

because Moon Pies are awful. Nobody is paying extra for them.

Unpopular opinion, especially since I was born, raised, and lived in Alabama almost my whole life…
Moon Pies suck rancid rhino arse.
I do like the occasional RC Cola though.

I prefer a RC Cola and a goober wheel. Vanilla moon pies are the best of the moon pie flavors. Geez I probably haven’t had one in 20 years.

I remember the chant we learned at summer camp when I was a kid: "M-O-O-N-P-I-E. Moon pie, moon pie fly to me."

Moon pies have a price point and it’s inflexible.

My daughter (np pics) brought home a bag of Moon Pie coffee last week.

it’s not inflation, it’s “opportunistic price gouging”
so i’ve been told.

Several years ago they did make a smaller moon pie, like three inch diameter.

Bananas never seemed to have had price increases either over the last three years.

I think most of them were made 25+ years ago, thus leaving them immune to current prices.

but what about the rampant “opportunistic price gouging”

They have a mint one as in Thin Mints Girl Scout cookies. It by far is my favorite.

I'll say this, when I am on any kind of parade route and I have been drinking all day and someone throws a moonpie or a bag of zapps...I am crushing it immediately!

Okay I’m with you on the foot thing but you just crossed the rubicon

Pizza chains haven’t changed price in like 40 years. You can still get a basic one topping large for around $10.
They make more money now thanks to all the tricked up crusts, wings and other sides that add $.

I'm more bothered by the decades over being overcharged
