No downvote here...I'm with you! How can we lose a game to a team that was missing lots of personnel and we were up by 24 at one time- 19 at the half.
I realize players got to execute, but coaches got to coach as well.

Willie is a good culture guy, but that might be his ceiling.

If they want to move off Willie as hc, I'd say promote Borrego and move Willie up to the front office. Don't want to lose Borrego.

We have 9 losses after leading by 15+ points this season.
We have 12 total losses
Let that sink in
He can't coach with a lead he takes his foot off the gas he might get a 1st round victory but that is it he will not out coach anyone, it's like less miles they are winning in spite of him not because of him
Willie needs to goblet Borrango take the reins and see what happens

Willie has shown a propensity to change, I do think he reverts back to what feels safe too much, but just like this team, I'd rather see the full season play out before condemning him.

I personally think this is simple as not shooting enough 3s. It catches up to you during the game. The Pels have to be getting at least 35 3s a game up. You cant trade mid range shots for 3s.

Just venting, but sports are the only thing that is on TV that isn't scripted bullshite. And last night felt like scripted bullshite. TNT crew, announcer's, all celebrating a fricking fool's return. And there is our coach looking like he's wondering if the CVS has Christmas cakes in stock. No support for our players at all. Zion is half the player he could be with coaching and play calling. Done with Willie.

It’s not that simple. Memphis didn’t outshoot us from 3. We didn’t lose this game because we traded 2’s for 3’s.

We lost this game bc we never went back to the lineup that went on a 28-2 run. How do you not rinse and repeat a lineup within the same game that did that? Living in bizzaro world not going back to that

Trey had 2 attempts from 3. BI had like 1. If they're not combining for 10-15 attempts a game, that’s on Willie.

Because that lineup was shooting/making threes. Willie just does not fundamentally believe in that. When its crunch time he will always revert back to defense and it continously burns him.

someone that values the art of playing defense.
and creating your offense through creating turnovers.
maybe Dennis Allen

Don't underestimate the value of a culture guy, especially with the two huge/fragile egos on our two most talented players.

This would make sense, but we have nothing to show for that culture, especially with our best player, so what good has it done and gotten us?

I think we need to lean the entire opposite way and get the next SVG like hard arse to give them tough love. If they break, so be it. The alternative is the last 5 ish years of nothing, so what are we really losing?

Therein lies the rub - I think you had the hard-arse without the locker room culture under SVG and that IMHO was worse than this.

Ehhhh yes and no. Yes the core problem is lack of us shooting, especially down the stretch. But that comes down to offensive philosophy sure and it also comes down to lineups, and we are just playing non shooting lineups late in games repeatedly

The team was worse, Bledsoe played the most total minutes on the team that season.

Our best player was the best he's ever been, not coddled, and played the most games he's ever played.

Yeah, but it's not that simple....that was a shitshow under SGV, your IMHO using selective memory.

It's been a shitshow since SVG too.

There is only 1 job for the coach, the GM...whoever... get through to Zion.

No one has done that.

Hey, I'm not saying I don't disagree that Willy is not a great bench coach, IMHO he is not.

However I don't think brining in a Van Gundy type makes it better.

What one needs is someone who combines a bit of both and some experience, and there aren't a whole lot of those around and the one's there are, probably are looking for another job aside from New Orleans, that's just reality IMHO.

So for me anyway, given the choice between good or at least as good as you can get these days, culture in the locker room - and a young coach who is green behind the ears but could get better....I choose the latter.

I believe Stan did, Zion seemed to love playing for Stan, he’s always had those hardass coaches his whole life with Sam Mitchell in AAU, Coach K at Duke, he loves being pushed hard like that.

I really and truly believe Ingram got Stan fired because Ingram was pouting that Zion was the focal point of the offense and getting all the praise.

If we had this same talent level with Stan as coach we would be well on our way to 50 wins IMO.
