Title says it. In for tomorrow night on buisness solo and looking for a place to enjoy a stick.

I found Murphys law on Google, but looks like it's nothing but bar bar stools and metal chairs.

Any place w sofas, easy chairs and a serviceable liqour selection?

TIA!

Check out The Cigar Merchant in the Oil Center. You can go in there and relax, smoke a stogie, hangout.

But it's probably not the full bar experience you are looking for. They close at 6 pm.

Internet search shows 648 Bourbon and Cigar Lounge downtown at 648 Main Street. Open until midnight, per website.

That 648 place appears to be in Lafayette, IN. Probably why it didn't come up in your search.

Murphy's Law has a nice cigar lounge (bar-side and outside facade look like shite).

Probably your only choice for an after-hours lounge.

What was the name of the cigar lounge back in the day? This would have been around 2003. Want to say it was close to Poets

Back when they had a hockey team in Laf, a player from the West Coast was assigned to play there. He didn't understand that there were two Lafayettes (and, actually, more) and he wound up in Indiana instead. Made it to Laf, La 2 days later.

That just made me feel less dumb about planning to go to a cigar bar in another state

That’s it. What happened to them? Did they close down or relocate?

The Cigar Merchant is a nice, quiet place to relax and burn a couple. As mentioned earlier, it is a daytime establishment.

Let me add this.

I have been several times and the first couple of times, I was chatted up by a couple of folks that were kind of annoying. I understand that this is supposed to be a social setting so I gave it more than a fair chance to play out. It wasn’t offensive, just not relaxing. It never really got better so I just started wearing AirPods to have a little more control of the situation and that worked well.

YMMV.

That small strip center, including Poet's was torn down. Not sure why as they never built anything since. Kinda part of the parking lot behind Starbucks, a bank and Raising Canes
