His FTC would have had a lot of stipulations though

Still amazed it wasn’t China.
I’m perplexed.

Being bigger than US Steel doesn’t have the cache it used to, does it Hyman Roth?

It hasn't in a while. Nucor > US Steel. Still, crazy to see US Steel under foreign ownership.

America has always been for sale.
Well .... at least since our beloved South lost the War of Northern Aggression.

So Trump would have forced YS Steel to sell to someone else? He would have bought it himself?
China and foreign countries bought plenty of US assets from 16-20.

Lots of companies are bought and sold by foreign entities. Not sure why this is controversial.

They paid a ton of money for the new stuff they are making in Osceola.
The above cost US Steel about 3 Billion.
They also opened a line this year that effectively makes them the leader in providing steel for transformer and car battery metals.
I live 20 min from Big River and its insane the amount of investment they've done over there. What started out as a small cold roll plant has turned into the world standard for steel production in just 5 years.

Construction of BR2 is expected to be completed in 2024, and once complete will be the most advanced steelmaking facility in North America, featuring two EAFs, with a total three million tons per year of advanced steelmaking capability, a state-of-the-art endless casting and rolling line and advanced finishing capabilities. BR2 is expected to operate with up to 70-80% fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to the traditional integrated steelmaking approach and directly support the Company’s sustainability commitments.

Interesting move. Japanese steel production is superior to the U.S. It's because their plants were forced to modernize after we destroyed them all during WWII. America kept trying to fix very old plants and didn't do a very good job.

If one were to browse the US Steel website, one would see they seem as woke as the white house.

American taxpayer footed the bill for this too.

Perhaps we need to include WW2 propaganda on the difference in Japanese and Chinese people, too.

Japan needs more steel than we do since they actually manufacture things.
