Ncaa is such a feckless organization that needs to relinquish its rules and regulations and focus on running the playoff/championships while pushing the conferences to set up a regulatory body separate. We are approaching a point where there really isn’t anything enforceable by the ncaa

Let the true free agency begin if that continues beyond this year. Talking about killing college sports. One of the best things about it was you knew who your players were and all unlike the NFL where they change all the time. If this continues then every college athlete will be a free agent every year

Agree but I don’t think that will happen. NCAA created this mess and need to fix it before the portal opens again in 2024.

Does this mean a guy that has transferred here like Aaron Anderson for example could transfer to another sec team tomorrow and play next season?

This isn’t about football.

Basketball, baseball are both affected though.

NCAA Transfer Ruling

Here is another link. There are 7 states suing the NCAA over the transfer mess and 2 days ago a judge ruled that transfers waiting for approval could play. NCAA followed this saying they could lose a year if they played. Now there will be an injunction in place by the judge which the NCAA agrees with.
Read article for more details.

And yet our esteemed AD and or president bent over and took it from the WEAK ASSED NCAA, fired the next Scott Drew, and hired this motherflucking CLOWN.

Makes you wonder what would have happened if we ignored the NCAA like Kansas did?

How in the world can a head football coach manage a roster with starters and depth players, leaving on last minute notice

The fact that it’s a group of state AGs suing is just bizarre to me. I was reading an article earlier where one of them basically said “there was a conference for AGs, and after some discussion we all decided to go after the NCAA.” …Why, though? I would understand if it were just individual players challenging the NCAA’s transfer rules.

Anyhow, after reading more it sounds like the NCAA really did not expect the judge to immediately hit them with that TRO. So they’re basically agreeing to convert the TRO to a preliminary injunction through the end of spring sports, which will also prevent the NCAA from retroactively ruling players as ineligible.

If I had to guess, I’d say the injunction probably allows the NCAA to bypass their own rule-making processes, meaning they can agree not to retroactively rule guys ineligible without having the D1 Council vote on it. Or something along those lines. Basically using the court ruling to get around their own red tape/bylaws.

Honestly, this is why I stopped watching the NFL decades ago. Free agency ruined the sport for me.

I could always count on Ed Too Tall Jones, Harvey Martin, Randy White, John Dutton, etc. wrecking offenses. Heck, I named on of my sons after DB Aaron Kyle of the Cowboys. Hope this doesn’t happen with college sports. Going to lose alot of fans if it does.
