Stanley Roberts
Came to post Stanley. Can’t believe it took 5 pages. He and Shaq were fun to watch. I was young but it seems like everyone viewed them as being much closer at the time considering how vastly different their careers turned out.

No one was surprised Jeremy Hill flamed out?
Prior to this season my answer works have been Greedy Williams but he’s recently resurrected his career

Really? As a kid I knew Jamarcus wasn’t going to amount to shite.
Based on what? He had all the measurables, and in college seemed to do the right things. Not every NFL organization had him #1, but everyone had him high on their lists. You must be psychic.

Brandon Larson.
Thought he would be a very good player. Turned out that he was benefiting from juiced bats at the college level.

This is an absolutely idiotic statement or you’re just trying to be funny.

Jamarcus. End thread.
Anyone with half a brain could see from a mile away that Jamarcus was going to be a bust.

Stromile Swift. Was great in college and did very little in the NBA. Huge disappointment.

Jamarcus is undoubtedly the winner here

JaMarcus had the unfortunate timing that his main coaches were Les Miles and Jimbo Fisher.

Seems pretty fortunate to me.

Yes, but we're talking about their pro prospects and career. The forever embarrassment of being a bust is something to behold too.

It's just that somebody was trying to be cool and take a shot at Miles and Fisher too, implying the issue was that he was coached by them. And as noted, playing under Miles didn't hurt him at all, he went #1 overall. Ain't Miles' fault he flamed out at the next level.
Jamarcus was the biggest bust, maybe since Ryan Leaf or maybe ever. I know Leaf went #2 instead of #1, but remember he was 1a to Peyton Manning, whereas Jamarcus was paired with Brady Quinn. That was just a bad QB class, and Jamarcus had the most tools of the group.
Guys I was surprised didn't pan out:
Tyrus Thomas was a shocker in basketball. Dude was absolutely electric in college, and seemingly just beginning to tap into his game.
In football, Sam Montgomery. Dude was a beast, an All American at LSU. Was cut in October of his rookie season, ended up making a practice squad in Cincy for awhile, bounced to the CFL but never played a down there.
Also Derrius Guice. Thought he was going to be a 1k rusher in the NFL.

Auburn absolutely ruined him, and they should be ashamed for what they did
Is there a video of that dirty play?

Anthony "the freak" Johnson i thought we hit gold on that 5 star Dlineman out of St.Augustine. Nobody mentioned those T-Rex arms before he got to LSU.

Remember that game. Duhe was in control and played lights out. He was Superman that day. The only time I really remember my Dad getting even slightly excited watching a game.

John Williams. Dude could handle the ball. Had super quick first step and release on his shot. He couldn’t keep his weight down.
