I haven't seen but a couple of games this year and I know he was benched. Was he really THAT bad, or can he be redeemed?

He’s out of place at LT in the NFL. I think he can play RT or guard

He can definitely mash at guard, there's got to be way more to the story than what we've heard so far.

That would be great if so. Ram is getting worse quickly. Draft a real LT and let Penning try RT maybe???

IMO, I don’t know how you judge too many players with this staff. Some players like Carr (bad reads, holding ball too long) or Olave (attitude when the game isn’t perfect) stand out. But when it comes to individual oline players, it’s really hard to judge. Entire oline has regressed over the past 2 years.

In his scouting write up, it was said and known navigating him getting enough reps to get where needs to be challenging because of how raw he is. His phsycial tools are upper tier at a premier position.

let him move to guard in the off-season where he has time to work with Jahri Evans on the nuances of the position. He is nasty and strong with faster feet than he shows at times so i think if he gets the footwork down he can be a good replacement at LG for Peat.

He hasn't played 17 games yet. RT or guard at worst I think.

When they took him off of left tackle, they didn't put him at left guard though did they?

I came to say this. The answer is Doug Marrone fricking sucks. The line is TERRIBLE since he came back. Literally everyone has regressed.

I dont think anyone on this team, even Carr, is unsalvagable. That's how bad coaching is across the board on offense. CSP has brought the Broncos from the dead to neck and neck race for the West with the Cheifs. Same team that everyone wrote off last year because coaching across the board was terrible. No one can function efficiently in the midst of mediocrity.

Unsure. This offensive staff isn’t helping anyone develop.

We have to hope he is salvageable. We can't just give up on him because we have too much invested in him. Put him at guard.

This is the same coaching staff that chose Blake Grupe over the best kicker in franchise history and Hedley over Pro Bowl punter Blake Gillikin. It's the same coaching staff that had Jimmy Grahamalamadingdong inactive for more than 2/3rd of the game this season.

We are a team capable of reaching the NFCCG if the coaches would just get out of the way.

You must be on some good shite if you think this team could make the NFCCG with Carr and this coaching staff.

Yes, he is that bad. He can maybe move to guard like others have mentioned, but left tackle is not his position. Carr also holds onto the ball too long and doesn't make progressions either.

I think of how bad Ruiz was year one and two and how solid he is now. so Maybe. If you don't count last year because of injury then this is year one for him.

Also depends on if we have a new coaching staff next year.

He's from a small school, was injured his first season, and he has our staff coaching him...I think he can still turn the corner with coaching change

Complete bust and deep down everyone knows it. Even Peat was getting significant reps by 2nd season.

Penning is worse than Turner and Foskey to date.

Penning = Jaxson Hayes for the Pels fans out there

All the physical tools, way too raw, poor attitude, immature, etc, etc

Penning will eventually end up with a coach that gets through to him and makes him a useful player. However, Allen has completely lost that locker room so I wouldn't expect anything from this staff

The Saints must fix the O-line. Regardless of what you may or may not get out of Penning they have to keep drafting LT's until they get one that works. They need guards as wekk and probably a replacement for Ram in a few years.

If this problem isn't fixed it won't matter who is running the ball or passing the ball. OR kicking the ball for all you Grupe fans.

ETA: The answer to the problem is already in New Orleans.

Go back to what has proven to work
