I’ll admit I thought the show was done after Roiland was axed, but I’ve been plenty surprised with this new season and voice cast replacement. After a rough first episode, I barely notice a difference. Even then, it was mostly Morty and that’s gotten better. Rick was never much of an issue. And honestly, this season has had some of the best episodes in the show’s run back to back.

I feel like they voice actors really turned a corner in the last episode and the writing has been good.

I think the voice actors were fine, even in the first episode. My only issue was Mr. Poopybutthole - his voice acting was terrible. The actual voice was ok but the intonation was just God awful.
The writing has been really good I think. The show is definitely maturing with its storytelling, really showing Rick changing as a person over the course of the season.

The first coupe of seasons were good, but this is the only good review of this season that I've seen. Most reviews have been scathing.

I like the show and the earlier concepts but it’s all just nihilism now. I want to see them on adventures not moping around.

I loved jerricky, but I'll also admit my ringtone is the howard dean scream, and has been for years

There’s usually at least 2 or 3 per season I can watch over and over. 0 for 5 so far in season 8. Needs to get back to its roots.

I've actually really enjoyed S8 so far outside of the Easter episode. That one could have been great but I can't get into the constant crude sexual humor. It wasn't as bad as the dragon episode but it was enough to make me not care.
I loved Homesteader Rick, could be my favorite Rick variant. The Space Beth centric episode was fun. Got some great scenes of Bird Person and Bird Daughter. Cryoship episode was pretty classic Rick and Morty. Rick yelling at Morty through the cryo pod in the beginning cracked me up.
