They basically talk about everything we are saying today and seeing him in person last night. It makes me sad

And they’re actually pretty complimentary of the pelicans as a whole but are very critical of fatty

I think I mentioned last night
The timing stinks as Simmons and Lowe and KoC even Verno, everyone was singing the praises of the Pels and basically saying they were ready to break out.
Now, we're back to the team being made fun of and Zion bashing. But we deserve it.

We keep waiting for him to step up on and off the court so we can hand him the keys to the franchise. But he doesn't want it.

Listening to it now. Simmons made a good point, he mentioned that 2nd jump Zion has with the ball down low.
We all used to marvel about that, Pels and non Pels fans.
How many times this season do you recall being impressed by that Zion 2nd jump?

our team and depth continue to improve and he’s gotten worst. He made 3 or 4 threes in a row in his first NBA game. Has he done that since?
I am not going to over react, but I don’t think it is one to say that he should be the 6th man, not Trey.

If he doesn't start giving consistent effort, he needs to be humbled.

Zion has done the second jump a handful of times

We currently have a positive net rating when Trey is in the lineup with the starters. Just saying.

Simmons also threw out an idea I thought about too...is there a chance the team tells Zion to step away from the team and get in shape then come back?
Granted, he may never come back lol. But I like this idea. If it takes 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years. Just don't come back until you become a professional, take this seriously, and you're in game shape.
I'd be all for that. We probably waste another season, but the season is wasted even with him playing right now. We're going nowhere with Zion in THIS shape.

Isn't that what they did last year? And he didn't play again

I've lost count of how many times he's been "humbled."

Starting to feel like a James Harden situation at best and a Ben Simmons situation at worst. Thats scary.

He went out with the hamstring injury and didn't return seemingly because the hammy was healed but he wasn't in shape.
So sorta similar but I'm saying send him away right now while supposedly 100% healthy, and he can come back when the team feels he's in true game shape.

Real talk do you seriously think about trading him inFebruary? I been trying to defend him and think he’ll get in shape. But last night was an embarrassment of epic proportions. Personally, I watched his pregame interview and I was like wtf was wrong with him- he looked totally wasted. The laughing/giggling on the celebration comments was immature too. Its almost like you could see this performance coming. Maybe a team like New York, desperate for a star, offers you Randle and a pick? Do you take that and just move on?

It's a situation where you're damned either way. If we're trading him it's because of stuff like this, which means we won't get a great return, which means our 1/2 will e BI/CJ which means we won't ever win anything meaningful. IMO, that's a guarantee.
I get that thinking Zion won't figure it out is also seemingly very likely, but I'll stick with having the generational talent and trying to figure it out over not having the generational talent and no chance to do any legit contending IMO.

I get that viewpoint totally and sort of where I would be. But if culture is so important to Griffin than even winning at times, its hard to keep seeing this over and over. The more I see stuff like this I think glimpse of contending is slowly fading away. At this point is that glimpse better than just being a highly competitive team that makes the playoffs and waits for its chance to fiind its next star.

I would have traded him (and Ingram) last summer, before giving him the new deal. I just can't envision a situation where it works with him. He's an amazing talent, but that isn't enough.
I am the biggest Randle fan on the board. But I'd rather another young piece and picks. Zion would be destroyed in any major market. He gets away with so much playing here. I kind of hope he gets what it seems he wants so bad..

I think Randle gets a bad wrap in New York. They expect him to be some great superstar when hes not. But hes a family guy, leader, mature, stays in shape, can score multitude of ways and has playoff experience. Would we be contenders- no. But we would have an identity and would be a highly competitive team with assets waiting for the next star to be available.
