There may be some issues. We have licenses and have problems driving on LA interstates particularly between the Atchafalaya and MS.

I’ve already landed a Cessna 182 Skylane many times

I'd be too busy thinking about the Roman Empire

Landing? Yes.
Landing where I want to in a controlled fashion? Probably not.

What’s your definition of “landing”? Does it have to be functional afterwards or do we just have to survive?
Posted on 12/6/23 at 12:57 pm to SquatchDawg
I land it first thing I am doing is coming here to talk shite to 777

Survive
Plane condition is deltas problem

Give me a long enough runway and I could probably land anything…
Now a fully loaded passenger jet on a 6000ft runway, probably not a chance

Everybody is a badass until they have a +10/-10 gusting crosswind on short final.

I think the hardest part would be, initial coms and staying in touch on the right channel. There's videos of people doing it in the simulator

They claimed at that time no one alive without some experience could actually land a plane and very few could do it in the simulator.
a guy I went to school with is a commercial airliner pilot and he says the same thing.
without some training, no way in hell.
so I asked if I'd ba capable of seeing up into the side of a mountain so it would be a quicker death for everyone, he said "possibly, but no guarantee"

Could Oldmanbeasley land a plane? Absolutely. Would Oldmanbeasley land the plane? Absolutely not, that’s how they get you for DUI.

Anything like placing it on the deck of the carrier in Top Gun and it’s lights out for everyone on board.

Admittedly, I don't know shite from shinola when it comes to air craft, but I have a feeling that large commercial airliner jets probably have so much automation that it's mostly about knowing which buttons to press when.
Some tiny 2 person propeller plane is probably very manual and requires more "skill" to land.

The little plane will actually be responsive when flying.
The airliner is a concrete block being kept in the air by prayers that the avionics package isn’t horrendously fricked like some of Boeing’s recent planes.
