FSU played their last regular season game against Florida with backup QB and won. CFP rankings come out and they are number 4 behind only the other 3 P5 zero loss teams. Why didn’t they move them down at that point? There starting QB was gone for good and they didn’t pass the ‘eye’ test. They go on to win the championship game and magically the number 6 and 8 one loss teams pass them. This is nothing more than ‘figure skating type scoring’ to get more of a tv audience and money. Florida State is in a P5 conference with 2 wins in the road against SEC teams. I’m no FSU fan, but this reeks.
The committee ranked teams with a thought baked in on where they thought they'd finish. FSU was last because they didn't respect the team without the QB but they were undefeated. Oregon was 5th because they thought they'd win. Bama was 8th because they thought they'd lose.
It’s called the Bama Mulligan. It doesn’t have to make sense. Bama is the protected class and will always get the benefit of the doubt.
The worst part is the contradiction with GA. You can’t say, record doesn’t matter, we want the best 4 teams and Bama passes the eyeball test without saying exactly the same for GA.
GA is easily a Top 4 team and was left out with Florida State.
Yep. If there is any possible way to justify adding Alabama they are going to get in, you can bank on it, no matter what kind of gyrations are required.
For the team standing in the way of their being added, it's just tough shite.
The win against LSU wasn’t a road game for them. At most it was neutral site. But calling that game a neutral site is like calling an LSU game in the dome a neutral site

Good point, Georgia loses by 3 to a top 10 team at a neutral site, Alabama loses by 10 at home to a top 10 team.

Don't forget the injury clause which should work both ways - the FSU second team QB would be back for the playoff and Georgia would have both of their top receivers back to 100%
What if what if what if
There is only 1 team that would be favored over UGA in the playoff.... adding the refs will not likely miss another 4th and 4 since it wont be reviewed in alabama.....
The number 6 and 8 teams didn't magically move up. They won their conference championships which is one of the committees most important data points. In my opinion this wasn't about moving FSU down. It was more about Texas and Bama jumping them. We are complaining about a system that was flawed from the get go by only allowing 4 teams with 5 power conferences. Sure FSU deserves a chance to play for a national championship, but so do the other conference champions. Somebody had to be left out and the committee felt that FSU was the weakest of the conference champions. And I can't say that I disagree with them.

Unless, of course, Bama has a loss and doesn't qualify for the Conference Championship game, then Bama gets in because....Bama.
LOLOLOL
It is hilarious to me watching people justify this.
The criteria changes depending on what Bama or another Media Darling needs to get in.
Hell, they got Bama in there without winning the conference when there were only two teams. Now CFB fans act surprised when they get them in with four teams.
Just wait until there are 12 teams. Bama can go 8-4 and will still be in consideration.
