There's being dishonest and then there's shite like this

Dude, Louisville is trash. Has been all year. OK, they're at the top of the trash heap, but still trash. They got smashed by 3-win Pitt by three scores and got beat up by a mid SEC team the week before their "pick'em" conference championship game. Their QB looked like the worst QB to never wear an Iowa uniform in collegiate football history.

You coloring them up to be a good football team is putting lipstick on a tranny and tongue-darting him

If fsu beats UGA and a 1 loss team wins the playoff, it’s very likely we have split champions with the AP, which is kinda amazing a committee allowed for this to be a possibility when you pick 4 damn teams

I think Oregon is better than Alabama. So why not Oregon a top 4 team ?

I had forgotten how I felt about the Mulligan Bowl in 2011 / 2012. We learned then the big names will get the nod over any lesser program.

Saban gets another do-over on his name alone.

It's disgusting.

FSU will beat UGA because UGA will be playing 2nd stringers because no way their NFL players will play.

If this was true Georgia would be in and Washington would be left out.

You think they'd be favored over UGA? Of course not.

Next what? I didn't prop a bad team up. I'm not on the committee.

Oh, you're still melting about getting wrecked with the whole 'answer my question' earlier. I actually forgot after I stepped away. Nevermind, you're my stalker now

I understand the frustration on behalf of FSU. I hate it for them. If Travis was still playing, they are likely in, not Bama.

But, the injury came into play, and, when packaged with other factors, it does weigh them down below Bama. Yes, Bama struggled against Auburn. Same is said about FSU against Florida, Georgia against Ga Tech, and Washington vs WSU that same week. That is what happens in rivalry week.

This is the type of false equivalence that makes honest discussion difficult. BAMA needing a miraculous muffed punt and an even more miraculous 4th and 31 hail Mary is more than FSU "struggling" with UF or any other team on their schedule. BAMA was beaten.... BEATEN. plain and simple. Miracles happen, but let's not pretend it is anything but what it is--miracle. They won (or Auburn lost, more exactly), but no one can take the victory away. We just need to stop pretending like this is "best 4 teams in the country" level of play.

There is no "what if" mentality in anything I've said. I simply said that FSU earned it on the field and they deserved what they earned. A team resilient enough to modify offensive gameplay and use a lights out defense to win should not be penalized because the committee and media are in love with their own echo chamber and love of the BAMA 'mystique'. There is a reason that BAMA is at the center of all the "unprecedented" discussions going all the way back to 2012. The ONLY reason they didn't get in last year over TCU was the fact that BAMA was a 2-loss team that didn't even win their own division (and the team they lost to [LSU] didn't ultimately win the the SEC--or we'd have had a much different discussion). The committee just couldn't justify it the way 2012 was justified.

You know they’ll make a trophy, and put an asterisk by it.

Side note. Does anyone know what the BSC standings would be?

The biggest thing I have a hard time with when looking at FSU is their weaker schedule compared to the others. They didn't really beat a marquee team
They beat LSU, which was a common opponent between FSU and Bama. FSU pretty much shut down LSU’s high powered offense in the 2nd half and won by 3 scores. Bama only beat LSU by 2 scores and that was after Jayden Daniels got hurt. Until then, it was a back and forth game. LSU offense was at full strength when FSU held them in check, which makes FSU’s win more impressive. Isn’t results against common opponents supposed to be part of the committee’s criteria?

But, they weren't and didn't.

Completing 31 yard passes are miracles now. Well, seeing Louisville and FSU play last night, I can understand how one would come to that conclusion.

quote:

I simply said that FSU earned it on the field

TIL beating a teen-ranked team with a three score loss to a 3-win team and a beating by a mid SEC team on its resume means an automatic berth in the CFP. Or maybe it was that "miracle" win over a 4-loss team in OT after their kicker missed a chip-shot 29 yard FG that sealed it. Or that "miracle" 2-point win when they were dominated by 100+ yards or that "miracle" one-score win when they were dominated by 100+ yards again. Or that Cam-back performance against 5-7 Florida was the ringer for you?

quote:

A team resilient enough to modify offensive gameplay

Or a team resilient enough to modify their gameplay to lift Jalen "Mildew" up to a 12-1 season capped off by beating the 2-time defending NCs on a 29-game winning streak in their own state.

quote:

The ONLY reason they didn't get in last year over TCU was the fact that BAMA was a 2-loss team

So, different circumstances, teams and scenarios altogether so a 1:1 comparison to this year is fruitless. Got it.

quote:

The committee just couldn't justify it the way 2012 was justified.

And, as a result, Bama was rightfully kept out last year. Committee has been on point. What's the problem?
