FSU struggled at BC & was losing at half to UNA who was DII a couple years ago. Not sure how tgat fits into your melt.

I guess my thing is ... I don't think I give a frick. I don't see how any of this enhances or harms us, and wtf do I care when we're not involved.

Obviously I get the around the edges concerns, but the passion of these arguments genuinely surprises me.

I don't give a frick about FSU and their problems any more than I care about Bama and theirs. If any of this turns out to directly impact our team or our recruiting well then I'll care.

So it’s not crazy seeing Bama in this. Honestly a head to head in Sept is not a huge deal imo.

Alabama doesn’t deserve to be in much like 2012. That being said the way they are playing now they’ll win it all

Is a team missing a 29-yard FG a miracle IYO? Just trying to establish what constitutes a miracle.

ETA: 641 collegiate FG attempts between 20-29 yards. 599 were made for a success rate of 93.45%. Yeah, counting on a missed chip shot would constitute a "miracle" by anyone's definition.

Or maybe this sequence of events is a miracle? "Boston College (1-2, 0-1) set a school record for penalties, missed an extra point, went for 2 after another touchdown and failed, and opted not to kick a field goal from the Seminoles 5 when trailing by 15 points early in the fourth quarter."

Or maybe a QB breaking his arm late in a close game is a "miracle"...

"Adding to Miami's woes, freshman quarterback Emory Williams suffered a significant injury to his left arm in the waning minutes while running for a first down. Williams, starting in place of struggling junior Tyler Van Dyke, was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be an air cast on his arm.

Miami linebacker Wesley Bissainthe called the injury “heartbreaking." It essentially ended any chance the 'Canes had of shocking the Seminoles, who were 13 1/2-point favorites."

So, Florida State should've been in?

Interesting...

Correct. Hence why Alabama beat them. Meanwhile, Louisville failed to beat their (then) 5-6 rival at home last weekend.

On a miracle. FSU also beat Louisiville if you didn’t notice. Your argument is extremely dumb lol.

Bama struggled at USF, and FSU was beating UNA by two scores at halftime (with Rodemaker at QB). Not sure how you thought you made an intelligent point.

do we apply that same logic to them and start going down the "WHAT IF" rabbit hole?

That's EXACTLY what the committee did. FSU might not have won games because of an injury so they discounted the ENTIRE season based solely on a what if

I'm sure your "arguments" sounded really smart in your head.... But you employed, quite frankly, some of the stupidest "reasoning" I've come across and your BAMA bias is definitely exposed. I hope you didn't hurt yourself with the mental gymnastics you used to try to convince yourself of BAMA's worthiness. If you can't accept the astronomical improbability of that win against Auburn, then I can't help you. If the tables were reversed there is no doubt you would magically accept the concept of a "miraculous" win.

To keep FSU out by touting how BAMA is among the "4 best" or "playing at such a high level" after having gotten outplayed by unranked Auburn in the last game of the regular season and barely getting by a hobbled UGA is dishonest. The fact that you choose not to see that is unfortunate , but I guess I should expect no less as that's your team and you need to ease the cognitive dissonance. I get it....

My point is that this should have been an easy decision were it not for the bias that gets shown to certain teams... FSU earned it on the field of play. There has never been an undefeated power 5 conference champ denied. And it shouldn't have happened here. There were 3 such teams this year, and they should have all been in.

The ONLY debate that should have occurred was Texas vs BAMA, but it is curious to me that given the head-to-head, we know how that would have turned out, right? (especially since UT won so convincingly in their conference game). So, it's just funny to me that we all have to now have this debate on how good or bad FSU is or "looks" after losing their QB. Also funny who that logic now favors, right?!?..

No melt here, my friend. What's done is done, but let's not pretend that FSU isn't deserving. Those kids earned their shot. To have it taken away from them like this is dishonest and unconscionable. To have BAMA jump them, but UGA placed below them??? C'mon, man. You're not that stupid or delusional, right?? Then again, I don't know, maybe you are.
