Cody and JRE are serviceable and better than Larry has played all year. Hopefully this means he's not washed and has been fighting through injury this whole time and will come back ready to play good again for the stretch run.

Not a big loss as of now.

Well said. Larry has certainly not looked himself in his minutes played this year

I get really worried about our minutes with JV not on the floor and Zion not running the 5 though.

Zeller minutes yesterday were not good, but he’s been good in other games, so we’ll see

Someone had to be the sacrificial lamb since we are getting Trey back.

I think the other thing important to mention is that if this had happened in previous seasons I would be extremely worried because JV minutes weren’t always the best

This year JV has hit a new gear and I’m really not worried about him taking the majority of minutes at the 5 in almost every matchup. That’s a huge luxury to have

Blessing in disguise. Larry minutes were awful this year. Let him rest up even more

A sacrifice to the Gods made to get CJ back.

It's the Pels way

Trey at the 5 needs to be a thing anyways. I know he's still 20-25lbs away but I need to see it

Is he? If he had already put on 10 pounds a month after the end of last season he really may be close to 25 pounds heavier than he was last year

If anything, Herb at the 5 on defense. He's probably our best option there behind Val.

Not like we need someone in the paint on offense so that's fine.

He was sacrificed for Trey. The basketball gods have taken their sacrifice.

This is only viable for certain matchups. Dyson is also solid defensively in the post, but they just aren't big enough to defend 5s for long stretches.

I think Larry is a great locker room guy but we play so much better with Zeller in the game with the subs. Cody just tough stays within the offense

Agreed. But Cody is having a tough time putting the ball in the basket lately. I do love his rebounding and screen setting. I could also see us giving JRE some time there as well.

I still want to find a way to get Jemison on a 2 way at some point this year. He seemed to have all the tools needed to be the unskilled defensive center on a minimum contract we've been looking for.

I'm thinking of him playing like a FS from the paint where he can be deployed anywhere when he sees the ball coming.

He basically plays like an off corner as it is, waiting near the sides and jumping lanes. This would just be a deeper position offering more vision.

While there is some good news here, because Nance hadn’t been playing well, and maybe this helps explain that…we are now suuupppeeerrrrr thin up front. I hope Griff is working the phones to find a warm body.
