Three options were proposed by Warren Easton:

1. Karr & Easton to the Jefferson Parish district with Bonnabel, John Ehret, East Jeff, West Jeff, Higgins & Riverdale

2. Easton in a district with Ben Franklin, Bonnabel, East Jeff and Riverdale. Karr would be in a district with Chalmette, Higgins, Ehret and West Jeff.

3. Splits the Catholic League and places Karr and Easton in a district with Ben Franklin, Brother Martin, Jesuit, Holy Cross and St. Aug. & sends Rummel & John Curtis to the Jefferson Parish public school district

Schools will be notified of the LHSAA Executive Board’s decision prior to notifying the media

There is no way I see option 3 being implemented.

UPDATE:

The new redistricting plan is set and we are back to the previous plan, with Karr remaining in the Catholic League and Warren Easton also joining. The All-Girls schools - Chapelle, Dominican & Mt. Carmel remain along with All-Boys schools Bro. Martin, Holy Cross, Jesuit, Rummel, & St. Aug. John Curtis remains in the Catholic League as well.

Since when does a single school have any say whatsoever in district alignment?

I don’t think Warren Easton has the pull to break up the Catholic league.

Option #3 is the most insanely idiotic proposal ever drawn up, no way does the lhssa not go with that one.

From a competitive sense it’s retarded….most of the teams that would be playing Rummel/Curtis wouldn’t stay within 6 tds. How is that fun or fair to anyone involved?

We’ll join when we think we can compete… would you want your team in a district with John Curtis?

Ben Franklin? All of their football team would quit if they played in that district.

So above for the sake of geography you wanted an entire district to get pounded?

The LHSAA should not consider this as a reason for creating districts. You cannot have schools rigging districts just to win.

Ben Franklin does not compete for district honors in football. They would not have scheduled the teams in that district.

Districts should just be eliminated. They are pointless. Let teams play whoever they want to play.

Chalmette spent enough time being the doormat for the Catholic League. GFY
