Is that a bad location for a restaurant being that is the second restaurant closed down at that location. I know they have a lot of people there playing outdoor volleyball.

No one is going to The Oasis to eat at The Shed. Louisiana/Mississippi need to stop doing BBQ.

That sucks. I actually liked the place. Service was quick and the food wasn’t bad for the price. The environment was always fun.

Food was just okay. The prices reflected much better than okay food.

I never went, mostly because I am partial to Texas BBQ, and I had heard through others that The Shed's BBQ was marginal at best, even in a city that doesn't do BBQ well.
If Rudy's BBQ (and I realize that Rudy's isn't the end all be all for BBQ would allow a franchise out here, it would dominate the city for BBQ. I picked Rudy's simply because they are one of the larger franchises for BBQ that potentially would have the capital and resources to expand vs. the local mom-and-pop great BBQ places.

its such an awkwardly built building
the outdoor bar area seems like you could do a lot with music, game watches, etc but both places seem to not utilize it
Its also in a weird purgatory area of not really being close enough for college students or families

the food is average at best even at the one in Mississippi
it's the nostalgia that keeps the mississippi one afloat and they can get all that traffic off I-10 with no problem
I would love for some Texas BBQ place to come set up shop in Baton Rouge, that's what we need

Got food poisoning the one time we went. Food tasted alright otherwise. Though the BBQ sauce tasted like straight molasses.
Seems like a great venue for a crowd. Wide open, lots of bar area, arcade room. But it seemed like 90% of people that go are playing volleyball and dgaf about the food.

They have/had a cool family space, but they are located in a pretty bad spot IMO. Getting to Burbank at dinner time with kids for mediocre food is just... not worth it.

Right. The original incarnation was never anything more really than sort of a gimmicky tourist trap. It was a weird deal thinking they could successfully expand/franchise.

How sad is it that the best BBQ in Baton Rouge is a chain, Sonnys?
They also make one of the very best sandwiches around. Any of the pulled meats (I prefer pork, but even the chicken is good) on that Texas toast is off the chart.

I haven't had Sonny's in many years.

We stopped at the one in Mississippi once and did not return so we have never even tried the one in BR.

Sonny's, for what it is, cooks a very good smoked bird.
