It’s a camel nose trying to get into the tent. If you like the political party leadership having too much control, definitely jump on board with ranked choice voting.

Not for political elections. But it has been used before for the logical reason of run offs being impossible.
Let's say a convention of Widget Producers of the World were held in Los Vegas. At the end of festivities you filled out a ballot for 'Widget Man of the Year.' Then you went home.
If no one had a majority you would need the rank choice ballot to do a runoff with paper instead of calling everyone back.

It violates the principle of one man one vote. Plus it is un-auditable.

What’s wrong with a runoff?

I wish that all elections were jungle primaries like Louisiana.

I agree. You didn't understand my example. I voted in one of those 3 day conventions. Some people come day one and leave. Some come day 2 and stay till the awards are announced. But everyone's vote counts.
That's why some 'clubs' have been using it for years. But it should never be for a political election.

Ron; 2 stars (go back to Florida and start again in 2027)
Christie; -5 stars (go away)
Vivek; 1 star keep going
Nikki; -4 stars (go with Christie)

Haley dead last if I had to rank anyone. I will not vote for a ticket with Nikki Haley on it, period.

Don’t understand the “I won’t vote Republican if my candidate isn’t on the ballot” people at all. You’re essentially giving half a point to Newsom and there’s really no upside to that. If a dog were running for Republican I’d vote for it.
