Was in concussion protocol at the end of the year, but highly accomplished center

Someone send to Brad Davis, I'm sure he knows, but get on it with BK

I wonder if the coaches get alerts when a new person enters the portal. I’d imagine there’s some sort of tracking protocol

Maybe BK does like Eaux and has someone reading TD to provide him updates and pass on fan requests

We need a transfer portal board that comes and goes with the coaches changes board

We're good on the OL. Spots are limited this year. Bigger needs elsewhere. DJ Chester will be really good center next year.

I get it with Charles being a senior, but we got some really good O-line classes with BK being here.

I think Paul gets it done in the middle next year, he's still got more time to beef up and learn the calls.

would much rather use the scholarship on the defensive side of the ball, or just some baller at WR - though I'm not sure if we need help there or not.

You always take talent but it seems we are good on the OL

One of the positions that is rock solid

My thoughts are I'd rather have a absolute proven center and then Chester rolls in his Junior year...if numbers are any issue, process one of the non-producing scholly players - there are plenty of them

This. We're fricked on DLine. Really need one or two high end talents there.

How limited are we talking? We don't even know who is returning or signing

Yes it is. He center tried his damdest to lose the Alabama game and there is no proven backup. Center is the last potential weak spot on the line going into '24. A good to great center means LSU likely has the best Oline in the country.

If you can, you always take a talented center. Especially if your run scheme revolves around the insides zone.

Yep we have bigger needs than OC. would be shocked if we sign any more OL. We are good there.

I also imagined an intern in a dark room hitting refresh every 10 minutes and sending screenshots to the coaches

and what happens when Chester transfers because of it? Then after one year you are left with no center.

This is the place BK wanted to get to. Chester is a highly rated guy that sat a year learning and is ready to be a 2-3 year starter. You build your team by developing HS recruits and letting them take the reigns. If you just keep backfilling spots with a transfer at every position it will hurt in the HS ranks. If you have highly talented guys ready to take a spot then they should play.

Let's say we have ~10 spots in the portal. All these needs trump center

QB
veteran RB
WR1 and maybe two
probably 2 corners
1 safety

too many other needs to not trust your dudes waiting their turn to be let loose.

Shea Dixon has said their plan is to be selective and for that number to be single digits, max is probably ~10.
