I love the matchups and the big games every weekend but some of these teams are gonna get hosed because of it and a lot will be sent back to irrelevance. Only the strong survive these days I guess

Looking at the schedules posted I feel like Texas got off easy for next year. In no exact order and most dates are TBD of course.

Nice. Are they still doing conference championship games just without the divisions taking the top 2?
I understand it makes money but having conference championship games in the new format is so stupid. Instead they should just add a week to the regular season (either a new week or get rid of rentawins and add a conference week) and name a regular season conference champion like other sports.

I do agree with where you’re coming from on taking top 2 being way too big of a mess though.

Will likely get messy, but I think that's a reaction to 2007-2021 when LSU, Auburn, and Bama dominated the SEC and they were usually 2 or 3 of the best teams in the conference and the East was dog shite. Want to give the best two teams a chance. For reference, the West won 13/15 SEC championships during that run.

conference expansion doing its job

I'd be more excited if they had struck a deal to get rid of the conference championship games for the SEC and Big Ten.

Yeah, every “blockbuster” game will feel big until some teams start to lose most of them and the shine comes off those programs. Nebraska was once elite. Penn State was once elite. Miami used to be elite. I’m old enough to remember Arkansas being perennially relevant.

In these new conferences in what’s a zero-sum game, some schools are going to wish, money aside, they had stayed where they were or voted no on expanding.

Well, we already know for some teams losses WILL matter...

For "other" teams, loses won't mean a thing.

I’d like to know who in Birmingham had the stupid fricking idea to schedule UGA at Texas the same weekend as the US Grand Prix at COTA?!?

Regular season will be awesome, until all the blue bloods knock each other off and we get left with several undefeated mid tier teams from bad conferences wanting in the playoffs.

At least going to 12 teams in playoff will help sort it out.
