I’ve been there man, hang in there. I know it seems like things won’t get better and they might not for a while, but time heals and you will be grateful you didn’t harm yourself, I know I am.

Good morning
Man I get it. I have been there with the sleepless nights, the feeling of hopelessness and inadequacy. It is… A very deep hole. 2018, I was in the same boat, the same shoes andI felt I had no options. Look man if you got 8 people in your life then you got be me beat today. I think the only thing that changed from a deep pit to seeing the light of day and the value of life is that I stopped looking at my own afflictions and started searching for the good things I had. I couldn’t see them because I was laser focused on the bad. For some reason I changed my thoughts and started appreciating my job, I went to church and found the goodness of God which was the one thing I needed the most and I began to see how rich I was in some ways. I became to be grateful. if that even makes sense.
Don’t give up. Write down change and do something like serve others. Church helps especially if you can find a healthy one. Your definitely of value. You are a man that has value. Keep moving. Keep pushing and life will change and you will then be able to help others.
God bless you bro.

Seek out the good and this is a good thing that you don’t.

I think I’ve counted maybe 8 people that actually give a shite about me
Take stock, not count, of the true friendships in life. Quality over quantity. Those eight (8) would be crushed if you harmed yourself and would be left with a hole that couldn’t be filled. My father in law committed suicide 25 years ago and the hole remains for friends and family.
Your depression is like an intruder that appeared at your door and intends to do you harm. You got to grind through this to repel the intruder from your life. It literally is a matter of life and death.

My Man if this depression is due to a cheating wife then dont give her the satisfaction of you having these thoughts. A lot of the guys/gals on this board have been thru this including myself. It is a lonely place blaming yourself for what went wrong. My saving grace is i had no kids with my ex. You will come out of this better for her leaving. You feel alone now and that is normal but dont blame yourself for a cheating whore. You will find someone else and if you want to see your daughter you have rights to do that.

First, I am sorry you are going through this. I can only imagine how bad it must suck right now. You're not going to avoid it, so you have to go through it. You can't run, you must face your reality and deal with it as best as you can with some professional help.
Second, you have to figure out a way to stop feeling sorry for yourself. If this is the way that you grieve, fine, but don't stay stuck in grief. Life is not fair. People do bad things. People make bad decisions. People are dishonest. People cheat. All those things, but you know what, you're still here. The sun comes up every morning, and you have today, as in right now, to change your outlook and outcome on life.
Nobody gets through life unscathed. Not you, not me. But then you’re left with a choice. Are you going to let your grief drown you, or are you going face it and come through on the other side?
No amount of anxiety will change your future, no amount of regret will change your past. Peace is found in acceptance. Stay focused on today, and take it hour by hour, minute by minute.
Time helps heal, providing you are doing the necessary work physically, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually.
Don't spend any time trying to figure out why she did what she did to you. Instead, use that time, effort, and energy to put the focus back on to you. It's less about her right now and all about you.
I'm happy to listen to you offline. While I never will be in your shoes, I have experienced a lot of pain, anger, resentment, and hurt like you, and I am here to tell you, that you will be okay. My offer is not empty, I'll be glad to share my personal number with you.

Here's some attention. Nut up and get over it, you sound incredibly selfish talking about offing yourself as you have a child on the way. It aint about you anymore.

I agree -- 8 people who REALLY CARE about you is pretty damn good.
I always agreed with the notion, if you have one true friend in life (one that you can call at any time and they will come help and will move heaven and earth to do so) you are better off than most.

Go inward brother. Dont worry about externalities. Find the source of your angst and what inspires you.

Right now, your brain chemistry is just off. But it won't always be that way. With some medication, therapy, exercise and a few minor changes you will feel like a new man.
Your problems won't entirely go away. But they will begin to feel much smaller, less significant, less intimidating. You can learn to find joy.
Hang in there. You have a lot to live for.
This is good advice

More people love you than you realize.
It’s a Wonderful Life really got this right.
As a daughter-dad myself, your little girl will need you more than anyone else in the world.
There are many many tricks to get you out of this funk if you’re willing to do them. All it takes is willingness.

You have to get out of thinking about the self. Have you ever met someone who was happy while being focused on the self? No. How about a person feeling sad? It’s universal. What about other animals, you think they’re caught up in self?
The less you think about yourself the better. You’re not going to get out of this by thinking, your best thinking got you here. Staying in the present moment without any judgements on it or yourself, not identifying with the past or the future, just being aware of what is around you right now. You will fail in this often like everyone else, but the key is to practice it and recognize when you’re caught up in self and refocus. It takes a lot of practice but it’s worth it. Meditation and prayer is an important part of developing this present awareness. Also walk outside a lot, watch the birds, appreciate the beauty of nature, listen to beautiful music, watch movies, cook good food, visit with people.
Don’t feel sorry for yourself, trust negative emotions, drink or use any drugs

A little off topic here but Roger you need to check out a website called Archaix.com. The guy postulates exactly what you posted and has reams of data to back it up. Yeah, this entire phony, ridiculous society that we are born into confuses people. This is not our home. Just a training ground/school for spiritual development. Don’t take it so seriously. OP, you will figure it out. Focus on gratitude and best of luck.
