A feel good story that needed to be shared.
11 yo Landon Melancon, Ville Platte Louisiana and his scholarship prize winning wooden sculpture he made for the National Turkey Carvers Association Scholarship Turkey Carving contest.
He spent 6 weeks making it, and only used the few tools his recently deceased father left behind. Lets wish him and his poor widowed mother a Happy Thanksgiving

DaMN, that is seriously impressive. Awesome that he won a scholarship as a result.

That’s badass. Well done young man.
On another note why did they touch up this picture and make him look AI? Don’t want to take away from his accomplishment, that’s impressive.
Edit: I saw this posted by a news station so I figured it was legit even though his picture looks fake. I figured they just photoshopped it. Is it actually fake?

Is there a link to the story?
Only link I see is the same FB story and pic in the OP… I’m not saying it’s suspicious, but the pic looks AI generated, and FB has a lot of BS stories to make people’s feels all good.

Meanwhile*, this blind young lady from Dry Prong, LA was able to sculpt this statue using only her feet and mouth:
