Big fan of the Mini Infidel from Benchmade. The fullsize is a little bulky for carry.

I have a bunch of them

All mine are either Benchmade or Microtech.

The best reasonably priced one is the Microtech Ultratech. I have 3 and bought another for my daughter to carry with her. They will fix and sharpen them anytime as well.

I have a microtech otf and love it. Had it start acting up about a year and a half after I bought it and I created a ticket online. Just had to send them a picture of what it was doing and the serial number and they took it in for repair. Shipped it back like 2 weeks later sharpened and working good as new. Didn't have the receipt or any proof of purchase actually.

Had issues sooner than you'd want out of a $350 knife but I'd for sure buy another one based off the customer service alone.

My work buddy just bought a Microtech UTX-70. It’s really small, I might would step up to the UTX-85. Buddy’s son has an Ultratech that he thought was too big, so he got the 70.

The knife is smooth and snappy and seems well made. Just the size I didn’t like.

I've got the mini and the full size and I agree. Full size stays in the closet since the mini came in.

I have two Microtech Ultra's and a custom single-action OTF. Neat knives but never found them to be of more utility than any other autos I have.

Another vote for Microtech....I have a UTX-85 and a Dirac. They are extremely light and great for clipping on chinos, khaki shorts, etc. If I'm wearing jeans I'm usually carrying a bigger non-otf Benchmade.

Microtech makes the best ones currently. From the steel(s) they use do the mechanism that reloads the blade regardless of the position it's in.

Also, I strongly recommend a non-dual edged blade. I got one and wished i had gotten one where the back side of blade is dull. It is less usable in certain situations.

I have a Microtech that was given to me, it doesn't seem to fire and retract reliably without regular cleaning and the blade tip was rounded a touch when I got it.

They were gonna charge me like $150 to replace it.

Microtech ultra. Once a month a squirt some RemOil in it, let it drain overnight, every once in a while I’ll shoot some gunscrubber in it to clean it out then relube it, never a misfire

I think the mini is the one to get, but finding a single edge is hard

The mini infidel? The Ultratech carries better the the mini infidel. The mini infidel is much wider than the Ultratech and they have about the same thickness.

I much prefer the trigger position on the Ultratech over the infidel as well.

I've got real Microtechs, and Chinesium Microtech and Benchmade clones.

I believe the real Microtech is a Spartan, the Chinese is a Microtech Scarab and a Benchmade Infidel.
Got them (and some Saints jerseys ) before Covid closed the dhgate pipeline.

I have to say the Microtech is better; and will also say that while real is better, the price was over $200, vs about $30 apiece for the clones. And to be honest, it's not THAT much better.

The microtech design is superior to the benchmade. Better controls, better spring layout.

If someone wanted a clone these days where would he look for one?

Big fan of normandy knives. I had an issue with my first order being the wrong color from what I ordered. I messaged them and got a response from the owner in under and hour. Not only that he sent me the original wrong color, black, and let me keep it for no charge but sent me the right one, od green. I'll be a customer for life just based off of that interaction and their lifetime warranty

Good question. I gave up on dhgate, when Covid hit. Until then, it really was a cool service. I got Saints jerseys for Brees, Thomas and Kamara, and I swear those were the exact same you'd see at shops in the mall. Color rush, holographic symbols, the Captain logo, etc. 10-15% of the price on the rack at those shops.

For knives, there were a few sellers that were really, really good. Those Benchmark Infidel clones, I looked at stuff in a local gun shop (Jim's, when they carried it), and I couldn't tell the quality difference. Benchmark boxes, with instructions and even the warranty papers to send in
Same thing with the Microtech Scarabs. There was junk there too, but if you started to search around, you'd come across stuff that would fool you.
I'm looking at this, and just my opinion it's a clone- because that's EXACTLY what mine look like.
