Dayton is and has been a legit MBB program. Losing to Nicholls is simply never acceptable.

I don’t refer to myself as a Mcman However I’ll say I’m pretty sure North Texas has been a decent program the last year or two for basketball.

Not white knighting for Mcmahon at all, but North Texas isn't a bad team. Game against St. John's yesterday came down to the last shot

Nicholls on the other hand is no bueno

N Texas may not be bad but they certainly aren’t good either

DAYTON

On Thursday March 15, 1984 LSU basketball lost to Dayton in the 1st round of the NCAA Tournament...I watched it at my house with my father!

And we watched Hill Street Blues

I'd like to fact-check "NCAA tourney every year":

More like 60% of the time.

Better than McMahon so far? Sure! But let's be accurate at least.

LOL. In Wade's 1st season he lost to Stephen F Austin of the Southland Conference. In his 3rd year he lost to Va Commonwealth, Utah St and East Tenn St and only beat Nicholls St by 10. So these losses happen. And before you go off the deep end I was a WW fan but I also remember the whining about him having no offense, i.e. street ball, and his difficulty inbounding the ball under the goal. It was embarrassing how many times we couldn't inbound the ball under our own goal. There is a lot of selective memory on this site. With a true PG this team could make some noise. Will see what happens with Cook and the #4 PG recruit in the nation next year. I'll judge him after that.

It's completely disingenuous to exclude the Covid season since the NCAAT was canceled.

If you want to be accurate - and honest - when is the last time LSU Basketball has made 4 consecutive NCAAT or 5 consecutive tournaments?

Are you stupid? They would have been in the tourney the covid year.

Thanks Mr McBland you’re as bad at math as you are at Coaching Basketball.
COACH WADE took us to the NCAA tournament every year he was here minus the Covid year, nice try by the way. His first year he didn’t but vastly improved us from your clone JJ the year before. 2nd season won the SEC.
Thank u for participating on the forum and kudos for scamming SW into a ridiculous contract.

Gtfoh, dude was robbed and legit time sensitive articles released at the most hurtful point every year..

And you no what!!! It didn’t stop Lsu one bit! They kept beating teams they shouldn’t have kept getting recruits they shouldn’t have despite the hit pieces prior to tourney despite the hit pieces prior to signing period..

That dude understood the game as it is now only he is was not allowed a seat at the table so his own fricking school roasted him and cut bait…

And do what would have happened with men’s football bc of wade I feel like they got hammered anyways with vacates wins, still feel like we should have stuck by him same as auburn did same as Kansas and Kentucky and duke stuck by their coaches..

eventually wade will get his seat at the table and it’s complete BS that Lsu won’t be sitting there with him

I’d prefer selective memory over your imaginary memory.

Don't forget Orgeron.
Those two may be the last winners/champions you will see in LSU major sports for a while.
I know, you will just lower expectations. Second from first or last is good enough for Woody's boys.

He took over the worst lsu basketball team of all time and got to the NIT, and won a game in his first year. I’d call that a success.
Then took us to 4 straight tourneys. Saying we didn’t make the tourney in 2020 is disingenuous.

We had 4 tourney appearances in the 19 years before Wade got here, and he does that in his first 5 years.
Our new coach is closer to challenging for the worst lsu teams more so than getting his team to a tourney appearance.

And Dayton has been a good basketball school for quite some time.
And UNT won the NIT last year and returned 3 starters.
I’d say I feel better about how we looked against them than I did all last year, regardless of the outcome. And Wade lost games to mid majors as well. It happens. It’s why the ncaa tourney 1st and 2nd round are 4 of the most entertaining days of sports of the year. James Madison beat Michigan State this year already.

But let’s make a run. Wade’s teams never made runs. To pay the money he did, and get the players he had, he didn’t do jack shite with it. To screw us the way he did at least win something. Or make it exciting with a deep run. Nope. Guy went in on LSU with no lube

Did you even watch LSU basketball while Wade was here? I ask because everything you said is made up as if you have no idea what you’re talking about.
