No I have not been under a rock, but my post went over your head.

He left LSU and went to Ole Miss. The story was that he was concerned about yes being behind Nuss after the bowl game last year (so QB 3) and reps for spring 2023. So he goes to Ole Miss and guess what, he is QB 3 behind Dart and Sanders (who Lane got from OK. State to come to Ole Miss). So what does that tell you, Lane did not think Howard was ready to be QB 2 behind Dart.

So for 2023, he was in the same position at Ole Miss as what he would have been had he stayed at LSU. He is QB #3 taking QB 3 reps. Period. Stop. Exclamation Point.

So for spring 2024, he is now going into spring ball QB #2 at Ole Miss. He would have been going into Spring ball 2024 at LSU QB #2.

At Ole Miss he is QB #2 behind Dart who will have had 26 Starts. At LSU he would go into Spring 2024 as QB 2 behind Nuss who would have had 0 starts.

Looking at the 2 situations, he would have a better chance to actually start at LSU in 2024 than Ole Miss if he is as good as some think he is. If he was this 5-star talent some here thought he was, then he would beat out Nuss in spring 2024. The fact that he did not stick around at LSU and try to compete with Nuss in Spring 2024 for the LSU starting job tells me he realized he could not beat out Nuss. Other than exceptional arm talent, Nuss in my view still has a way to go but I think with this offensive coaching staff, he can be coached up and be ready to go next year.

Things come hard to you, huh? He’s QB3 at Ole Miss, just as he would be here. However, at Ole Miss QB2’s eligibility is done after this year and QB1 has one year left. At LSU, QB2 has two years left after this season.

If you believe he left because of QB2 vs QB3 practice time you are gullible. He left because he can potentially get on the field quicker than at LSU. Nuss will be a good one, but not a one and done.
