Hope you "I just need to lose 5 or 10 pounds" types have already said your goodbyes.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says Ozempic can cause ileus, when the intestines become blocked. In rare cases, this can prove fatal if the contents contaminate the body, which can cause a condition like sepsis.
Reports to the FDA's FAERS system have linked 51 fatalities to weight-loss drugs popularized by celebrities. The reports, which are not verified, were filed for users of Ozempic, Wegovy and other drugs that use semaglutide - the active ingredient in the weight-loss shots.

Is that a better or worse outcome than being a fatty?

This board HATES (Loathes) any drug that helps with weight loss so this will be a fun thread.
That being said, I wonder how many of those 51 deaths were people abusing the drug and/or doing something stupid.
I still maintain the drug has a use for those looking to kick start a weight loss plan but needs to be paired with lifestyle changes and exercise. That position has not been popular on here. I also believe that people are slamming 50mgs and more weekly hoping to increase weight loss and that is what is killing them.

Only an idiot would take these pharmaceuticals, continue to eat huge amounts for weeks and weeks, all while not shitting.
You don’t eat because your body doesn’t want you to. If you’re slowly processing food in your system, your natural hunger is lowered. So again, like anything, it’s an idiot problem more than anything else.

Wilson 'Bo' Muhlheim, 79, from Eugene, Oregon, was prescribed the medication a year ago to help manage his type 2 diabetes.
Well this started off with a bang.

Article says over 60,000 new prescriptions for this shot in April. Assuming just that one single month, fatality rate from the shot is 0.00085%. If I was fat, I’d take those chances.

We all thought these drugs would solve the obesity epidemic by making people skinny, but it really just kills them.
Win/win IMO

The better question is how many of those 51 deaths were people who were even using the drug specifically for weight loss, because these were very popular diabetes drugs long before they found out non-diabetics could lose weight on them.
...kind of like the example from that shitty article in OP

Ozempic is here to finish what COVID started

Why didn’t you bold this part?

Why is this one of the first posts in every threat on these drugs, often before any of said "haters" show up.
I think it's fine to sneer a bit at those who shortcut to losing weight vs those who do it naturally and via merit. And normal for there to be skepticism for miraculous drugs providing results.

Is that on the same wavelength as dying from Covid without getting the shot?
Because we all know how this board feels about Covid.

Ah well, you know how intelligent the average OT'er is.
Think about that and then consider half of them are dumber than that.

I see this is The Daily Mail. I've been taught here its reporting is 100% reputable and only publishes fact based stories...

Is there a shot to gain weight?

I mean this is literally a thread celebrating the death of people, many of whom aren't even taking the drug specifically for weight loss and are doing it to treat a disease.
Even if the examples are purely for weight loss, this then becomes a thread dancing on the graves of people trying to better themselves.
