Losing Ondre and Cai really stings…we were sitting at 6 DBs now at 4.

With 3 out of 4 being 3 stars. We have what 2 months to replace these guys? We’re also dropped to 12 in the rankings which hurts

I believe they are targetting probably 1 or 2 guys to flip at the position. If they don't get them don't expect them to reach if they miss probably grab 1 cb from portal. I wouldn't worry about rankings alot of decommits are coming in college football. Plus we will add some players.

I’m guessing there’s some they’re looking at for freshman but we except coaching changes on our side so probably the portal. Sure would like to try for Jacoby and Bryce Anderson.

Dont worry they will def replace them with 2-3 top stars that would start day 1 at Georgia southern

Like it or not, Woodland and Causey were the replacements, IMO.

All you need if your D line is good enough.

This is beyond stupid. Dropping in the rankings doesn't hurt, losing the player is what hurts.

The "ranking" is just some guys who don't coach sitting around and determining a value and a formula.

We lost a player that our coaches wanted that's what hurts.

Just wondering if you have spent personal up close time with these dreaded 3 star CB's? You seem to already know that they can only play at Georgia Southern. Did you evaluate Justin Jefferson 3 star and Josh Williams a walk on to inform LSU they were making a mistake Back then?

Just asking.

The drop in ranking is synonymous with loss in player. Use your brain

The staff did, and chose not to offer both after in person camps. Stating that now we're somehow targets all along isn't true.

This doesn't mean they can't become really good players. We got beat for players our staff evaluated as better players. Getting defensive about it is weird. It's the reality, and at dt too. The staff is working to mend that at dt and let's see who we nab in the portal at our big need spots.

It's okay to be down about losing good players. Portal can alleviate alot of pain points. converse / garner vs harris/ chestnut is an example of sometimes you hit big, and sometimes it's a whiff. We've attracted portal kids 2 yrs in a row, just gotta close on who they identify as best talents / fits.

Glad we're set at oline, rb, wr unless 1 splash kid hits portal, qb besides depth, te, de, s unless splash kid wants in. When Kelly got here we had holes all over. They can focus on defensive side this portal season

Josh Williams would not even be getting on the field if LSU had RBs like we did in the past.

Well we have two studs right now. One is hurt and the other is a beast Freshman that Kelly just refuses to put on the field for some reason other than a few plays.

Still have 6 DBs committed at the present moment:

Johnson
Woodland
Causey
Foster
McBryde
Rogers

of which 2 are Safeties and 4 are Cornerbacks. Causey and Woodland were the replacements for the two CBs that flipped, (yes the coaching staff knew it was coming). Also expect at least one of the two, if not both, to get bumps in the next updated rankings. Woodland is already a 4 star on at least one of the recruiting sites.

So:

2 4 star Safeties
2 4 star CBs
2 3 star CBs (subject to ranking updates)

I have no idea what Evans' senior film looks like, but considering he flipped to Georgia, I'm going to guess that he's a pretty good prospect.

Doesn't mean he is lock to be great. He got burned really bad multiple times when they played Brentwood on ESPN. Very raw player isn't by no means better than any of our corners committed. CB recruiting is a lot like OT recruiting. You got your two or so players that are truly elite. Then every one after that is a crapshoot depending on player development. Players like Mills, Collins, Greedy, Mo Claborine, Flott were not elite recruits. Savion Smith, Sage Ryan, Ricks, and Toliver were. It's a hard position to really project.
