The Marvels featured three leading women superheroes. Two of them are women of color.
Against projections of $80 million for an opening weekend, it pulled only $47 million.
Literally the worst performing Marvel Comic Universe (owned by Disney) movie of all time.

This is an unprecedented Marvel box office collapse,” says David A. Gross, who runs the movie consulting firm Franchise Entertainment Research. “The strikes hurt the film’s marketing, but that’s not what’s driving these numbers.”

You’re telling me people don’t want to be lectured to by militant lesbians?

Fair enough. But my post isn't really about the movie.
It's about the insanity of media and entertainment elites pushing woke ideology agendas that the public doesn't want. Which is a favorite OT Board topic.

Nobody wants to see women save the universe, they want to see women take their top off.

Is ‘tentpole’ some sort of movie industry term I’ve never hear before? Writer uses it several times.

Things we all know before it actually happened for $1,000 Alex.

If sandwich-making was their superpower and they were attractive and scantily-clad, I’d be much more inclined to marvel at them.

Yes. It isn't particularly new but it means a high revenue film (or at least is supposed to be) to "hold up" the rest of a particular studio/company's film output. A film to pay the bills and for all the art films, talent development, etc.
Like a college football team is to the rest of that school's sports.

Yes, but unlike the rest of us, the lesbians you're envisioning have dyed hair and septum rings.
