6.8% rate. Credit Score was 830 though

If you really are high income you should be paying cash. If you really are high income and can't pay cash, then you can't afford it.

Only way you get sub 5% is with a promo from a dealership. 800 credit scores are still getting 6-7% right now.

Find a local bank or credit union and get a rate from them. Go to dealership with a rate a bit lower than what the bank/cu have you. Dealerships don’t want to miss out on financing. They might go a little lower. Go back to bank and tell them the dealership is giving you lower than what they offered. They may come in lower.

I posted a link to the credit union's rate page. Meritus also offers 5% up to 60 months and 5.25 up to 72 months.

I went through my credit union. Got 4.99%. Dealer couldn’t believe it was so low.

Cash is an option if rates are above 5%. We get 4.8 right now from our savings account
