I miss actually holding physical music.

Having every song ever made on my phone in theory sounds amazing but it’s almost too much, never know what to play etc…. I don’t appreciate the music as much when just streaming it as opposed to owning it and physically able to hold it and play it.

Miss the days of actually holding music, the liner notes, how the CD was designed, etc.

Anyone still buy an album every now and then?

I do if it is something I want forever or if it is from a band that I am in to. Nice to have the notes and such.

I almost always buy music on cd. Have about 1100 in my collection. I keep my old iPod Classic in the car and have an iPod Touch for around the house. Whenever I buy new music I'll load the cds into iTunes and then update my devices when I get around to it.

I must be done buying CDs, as I’ve yet to purchase the new Metallica album that was released 7 months ago. If I didn’t buy that, I’m not buying anything.

I’m nearly 50 years old and bought their black album at a Walmart I rode a bike to, with money I made flipping burgers at my first job in high school.

I had a good run with physical music, but my heart isn’t into it, anymore.

I buy used ones when they're cheap enough.

Yes, I'm still in the market for them. I have my collection of roughly 500 CDs, and I do listen to them all the time. They've been a marvelous investment.

I have ready money for more releases, but the number of items catering to my tastes (real vintage stuff, mostly from the pre-war era) has really dwindled down to very little over the past few years.

Without a physical disc
Or a vinyl LP I have trouble thinking
of a collection of songs as an album. It’s just notes out there in cyberspace.

I buy them quite regularly. I've got 4 in the last couple weeks that I need to rip.

Not CDS, but vinyl yes... Thats really the only way I listen to new music. Not much of a streamer...

I do occasionally but have great slowed down. At my peak in the 1995-2004 timeframe I was buying 10 a month. I don't buy that many a year now, though I've started buying LPs again in the last 2-3 years.

There's definitely a different feel when you buy a product, have a physical item with notes & photos and have more invested in it.

But I also have been playing the music from CDs from a ripped file for probably 20 years now. Even so, I don't anticipate ever not having a disk player even if it's not a dedicated CD player.

I’m still 100% CDs
bought a new vehicle last year and didn’t even notice that it didn’t have a CD player until I went to go listen to one…bummer

usually buy 5 or 6 a year and the occasional boxed set, it mostly reissues or archival releases from the classic era. Only thing new I’ve bought in many years is Billy strings’ albums

I don’t have a CD player anymore so….no? I agree though as having actual CDs would encourage you to check out all the other tracks on the album outside of the hit or single that prompted you to buy it. Now I’ll come across a new song I like on Spotify and add it to a playlist and not really take the time to dig in to the rest of the artists catalog. That’s really stupid as it’s likely they will probably have other stuff I like. Once I get around to it, I figure that out. Too many choices these days is not necessarily a good thing in that regard.

I won't buy any from mainstream artists.

I will buy them from local and unknown bands playing in bars.
