Are new truck prices starting to ease

What brand/model you want probably matters in if the dealers are willing to negotiate much

I don't know but the lots I see have more inventory on them than at any time since 2019. Also not sure how the auto workers strike is affecting things.

I don’t think any of us have a crystal ball. It’s a prediction that I share as well. It’s been odd watching truck prices just climb higher and higher even though logic and market circumstances seem like they should come down. But people are starting to struggle quite a bit with inflation. We should be about done with the people that willingly buy at high prices leaving fewer buyers with disposable income to afford these elevated prices. The repo rate seems to be perpetually climbing. Interest rates are high.

Having said that, nothing economically has made sense for the last 3-5 years. Inventory appears to be back. It’ll be interesting to see what happens at the end of the year with remaining inventory. Just seems like prices have hit their climax. For all I know we are still the perpetual 6 months away though.

High prices cure high prices.

Same situation. 198,000 miles on mine, but runs fine.

Chevy was offering 0% last month, but on a $60,000 truck that’s still damn near $1000/month. I can afford it, but just seems ridiculous….esp considering it’s a Chevy. Crazy seeing how new GMC 2500 AT4’s are all over the place and they run $90-$100k.

I just made the decision to drive mine for another couple of years.

This is where I'm at. 2015 Tundra paid off and has 170k miles on it. I'd rather spend $5,000 to put a new motor in and keep rolling than to pay $75k for a newer truck. Something has to break sooner or later, and I don't mind buying time until then. I've waited 3 years to this point, I'll wait another 3 at these prices. I'm thankful for my 2017 truck that's only got 56k on it. I hope to drive it another 6 years and see what happens. At these levels I'd have to consider buying something other than a full sized truck. I'm just not willing to pay a $800-1000 vehicle note.

I don't need a truck for work, but I do use mine a lot. I could probably do fine with a Tacoma, but they are expensive too.

If we have a recession I suspect they'll decline some but no idea if that's going to happen. It's been about to happen for 2 years now.
