Police confirming there are four patients with gunshot wounds on I-59. The incident began when one party spotted their ‘alleged stolen vehicle’ and began following it. A shootout ensued between both vehicles. No unrelated victims.

Multiple people have been shot in I-59 Southbound at the 20th Street Hensley exit in Birmingham, Alabama.

According to the Birmingham Police Department, several people have been injured and two people have been transported to the hospital. They are believed to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The initial 911 call was for masked men shooting into occupied vehicles. The call came around 4:40 EST.

All I-59 lanes near the 120-mile marker have been closed and will remain this way for an undetermined amount of time.
