Dutchtown almost went undefeated with an infinitely tougher schedule than Chalmette. Only loss was to Walker by one point.
I know absolutely nothing about Dutchtown and I’m sure they have a top 10 seed for a reason. However looking at their schedule they only played 3 teams with winning records and lost to one of them. They only beat a prep school out of NOLA that lost every game this season. That game had a final score 2 to 0. Chalmettes only loss was to the 1 seed Holy Cross and Chalmette should have won that game.

Carver had to forfeit every game due to LHSAA rule violations… Dutchtown only played 8 games in the regular season

that district was top to bottom better than Chalmette's.
they beat a 10-1 St Amant team and lost to a 9-2 Walker team. both of which are better than anybody chalmette played minus holy cross.

They also beat a very big and athletic EA team who missed the playoffs by 1 spot and who lost out of conference games to Zachary, West Monroe, Destrahan, and Alexandria. That EA team would give Chalmette problems
District 5-5A was no joke this year. Top to bottom, it was a solid district

Apparently there was a fight in the handshake line after the Jesuit Byrd game. I had switched off the stream before this. I just clipped it here:

Good job by kids and staffs keeping that from escalating.

You didnt do much thinking or research. Northshore, they beat (btw, they host walker this week, so 2 teams they played during season are this deep, one about to be in 3rd round). Dtown also beat covington (thats a 5a team), ponchatoula (5a, who was 5-5 but in the playoffs and barely lost to chalmette). So not one opponent on schedule was 1-4a/‘easier win’. Chalmette has played crap schedule if you actually looked, they have same actually resume if you want to compare ‘strength of schedule (1/3 against winning teams’,) but bogalusa is 3a so not of same caliber to 5a.

I’ve been saying we need to play Ascension schools more often in football and baseball… it’s beyond crazy that we started playing football in 1937 and never played anyone from that parish ever until Friday night… it’s not like the travel is onerous… just straight down I-10

That’s insane. Never would have thought that to be the case.

RMC it's a safe bet none would be on Thursday next week. Only remote possibility is Vandy at JFK.
Only Thursday game this week is Mansfield at Sterlington

If Chalmette plays to their talent level and doesn’t have dumb penalties they can beat Dutchtown..
If they start acting dumb with penalties and play like they did in first half on Friday they will get bodybagged.
This is when I wish we had a tougher schedule / more legit road games.

We (Ponchatoula) were dumb with penalties in the 2021 regular season & the first 2 games of the playoffs and still bodybagged pretty much everyone.

Owl, I think you will appreciate this one. I saw this post on Facebook in the beginning of the season.
Maumas, which later became Chalmette High, played Lutcher in 1946 and 1947.
Lutcher won 37-6 in ‘46 and 38-0 in ‘47.
