How was Asteroid City, I haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Unlike most, I loved The French Dispatch. Léa Seydoux helped a lot, and I like Benicio Del Toro in almost everything he's done. I need to finish up Gilded Age.

I enjoyed it a WHOLE lot. but I like Wes Anderson. Lot of fun things they did with it for a bit of scif-ish movie. I did not like French Dispatch.
It’s really meta. Just go in knowing that it’s not the “actual story” you’ve seen in the trailers. It’s a depiction of another story.

cartoonish/cringey than the books.
not a book reader but this season feels more over the top cheesy because hes no longer the only military bro. He rarely talked in season 1. This season he's surrounded by all the military bro lingo and it just feels overplayed.
when they were drinking by the fire after the bar fight and had humvees surrouding them like some casual tailgate party in the woods

I’m not as invested in this season. I binged S1 and enjoyed it a lot. Especially the titties. We ain’t got no titties this season and too much dude bro energy.

The two females nearly get more screen time than the male lead. Also, who the frick watches reacher for titties?

Hulk Reacher looks funny when he runs.

Does anyone else feel like this season is less Reacher-centric? There are far more characters sharing screen time.
I’m enjoying the backstory scenes of the investigators and how that ties into Reachers’s character development.

I think part of the point of this season is showing how Reacher became well... Reacher.

Especially when he is trying to run towards the snipers and hiding behind little tombstones. Seems to easy to pick him off not to mention the plan was to flank them not run straight ahead.
Enjoying the show just thought that scene was funny.

Reacher looks constipated in that suit

I’ve never read any of the books or seen the Cruise movies, but I feel like the character worked better as this hulking, man of a few words, fish-out-of-water in a small town in the first season. I was hoping we’d get to see more of that.
I liked that the stakes in the first season felt a little more grounded.
Also, Reacher just straight up murdered that first drug dealer in cold blood.

When the show the tits the first season, they create expectation of titties and hardcore action. The action this season is mid, the villain non-existent as a phone call baddie, and the dialogue is just cringey.

I hate how obvious it is that O’Donnell is really the bad guy

Way too much Nealy for my taste. Don't care for that character at all.
"You've never fought in heels?"
"I've never worn heels."
blech
And I want to see Serinda Swan's tits but since she and Reacher already hooked up, with no tits shown, I'm guessing those are not on the menu.

I was worried that I was the only one who would feel this way. I enjoyed last season way more.

New episode out.
Very excellent.
High body count.

I respectfully and sadly disagree. This was the worst episode so far. A highly trained military ops team is running around with Walther PPKs facing automatic weapon fire. Why would they not prepare for this eventuality based on previous encounters and experience alone? The car chases were weak, the writing not so great, and the pacing off.
It's getting a bit boring sad to say, and I like this show. The action was bad and them using only pea shooters against a worldwide terrorist network that they know plays big time is kind of unbelievable.

Agreed.
The whole season feels similar to Jack ryan S2, just lame, awkward, and surprisingly low budget.
Prime made the same mistake and bit off more than it could chew after success in S1 and while I thought this book was very good, it’s clear it was a mistake to use as S2 because it is one of the more epic in the series covering multiple locations (for some reason changed from L.A. and Vegas to NYC and Atlantic City), characters, and shootout/explosion scenes.
The beauty of S1, and most of the books in the series, is that they are pretty well contained conflicts, often in small towns, with Reacher almost always working with only one or two allies that he meets in that town helping him along the way.
Prime simply doesn’t seem equipped to tackle this more complex narrative and didn’t commit the budget necessary to make it look convincing on screen.
I agree with an earlier poster as well that Reacher’s banter with his 110 buddies is less interesting than his more robotic analysis and facts only approach in most of the other books, and comes off as pretty lame given the writing.
Det Herc’s last stand for some girl we saw for like 90 seconds came off as painfully cheesy, especially after one of lamest car chase scenes I’ve seen in a long time (not to mention on the heels of the hilariously cringe worthy fire fight at the funeral :lol)
They need to be much more realistic in choosing the book for S3 and get back to what made S1 fun and satisfying.
