That old boy may have enjoyed an afternoon crawfish boil a much as you enjoy trip to Scotland. Folks are different. I have traveled so much for work that to be honest a good cook out with friends and family beats the shite out of going to Europe again and any trip that does not involve billfish is a trip I am going to try to get out of...folks enjoy life in different ways. Now if old boy was complaining about being bored thats one thing but just because something isn't for everyone does not mean those who don't care for it are missing out...
I love a good crawfish boil. I mean that's my favorite food I've done 100 of them though. I understand that someone would rather sit around and do nothing instead of traveling if that's not you thing. I don't understand though how someone doesn't get that certain people like to spend money on traveling all over to see beautiful and fun places. Even if I didn't travel a lot (which is me and the wifeys favorite thing to do), I'm not going to hate on other people for doing it.

I'm retired but I didn't want to be. The good Lord had other plans for me. I grow and raise orchids. I grew orchids for over thirty years and I still do it. When I get them to bloom, that's a big achievement for me. I'm currently dealing with my health. I have cirrhosis of the liver and there is nobody to blame but me. I was never a drunk that would go out in public while being drunk. I would just drink off and on. I never craved alcohol like some do and for the most part I would drink occasionally especially at a party. I was definitely sober more than I was drunk. I may not be here much longer but I enjoyed my life for the most part. I look at my orchid plants every day and I have a few that are currently blooming. Growing orchids is a hobby that I discovered many years ago.

Looking into taking a solo vacation next year.
I’ve always wanted to take solo vacations and road trips. Never got around to it.

Haven’t trained in months. Been doing it for years but serious lack of motivation lately. That and fishing were my go to’s but been in such a funk neither seem fun right now.

I fly a high end drone FPV(First person view). It's awesome. You actually feel as though you are in the drone while it's up in the air and you just go whatever direction you want to and see whatever. You wear goggles and see what the drone's camera sees. I also have a model railroad that I work on in the winter. I also work on side by sides and ATV'S for people. I'm retired and I really like working on these things.

Sure, why not. Lance is a roadie though, who knows what he wears these days.
You can guarantee he is rockin' Roka shades.

I haven't ridden in about 5 years, but this was not my experience, haha. It was a money pit. Always wanted new wheels, the latest bike (to add, not replace), new power meter, upgraded components, etc..
While I do enjoy the latest stuff I am also a huge fan of riding vintage bikes. I am 80% roadie and have 3 Colnago Master X light frames all with period Campy groupsets one with a C Record groupset with Delta brakes, the most beautiful groupset Campy ever made. But my newest project is a MTB. I am partial to 26" hardtails that we raced in the 90s.
I just finished building the wheels. They are all period correct NOS. Chris King hubs, Mavic SUP X517 Citron Rims with DT double butted spokes and blue Al nipples.
My current shop monkey got in this picture!
The frame is a 1997 Rocky Mountain Team Only Vertex Limited built from Easton HBO Elite Tubing (hand welded) with the Canadian maple leaf fade paint. I have a full XTR NOS group with Race Face, Syncros, Nuke Proof, Chris King, Salsa and Selle Italia parts. I have a brand new (but I had to rebuild it) Rock Shox SID Air Fork. The whole rig will be under 18 pounds when I get her finished. The only thing not vintage will be tires, tubes and cables.
This bike would have been a UCI World Championship-worthy steed 26 years ago. She will be fast as hell on groomed singletrack today.
