So you believe in God but “have no use for religion,” (which is a nonsensical statement, but that’s for another time) because other people who believe in God do stupid shite.

Was he a "tranny" or a cross dresser? Those are 2 completely different things in my book. Transgender is a mental issue where the person thinks they were born with the wrong body. Cross dressing is a fetish that usually isn't done 24/7.

I'm not gonna pile on. It's a sad story. Being from the Alabama Bible belt myself, I know how shitty he must have felt being outed. (To be fair he outed himself).
He was an adult and if he wanted to live that way, it's none of my business. Maybe someone from his church should have tried to help him before it got to this point.

That was my initial approach to the whole affair when it first broke. The one issue here is he promoted transition surgery on his blog and further wrote “erotic fiction” that fantasized about killing a local woman — named by name — and assuming her identity.
That is where this pastor crossed the line from his claim that his “cosplay” harmed no one to being an advocate for evil — if not committing a crime. As a mayor and a pastor, citizens in his community and the parishioners in his church had the right to be informed of his degeneracy and the fact he was a deeply disturbed individual.
Curvy transgender' Smiths Station Mayor Copeland wrote fiction about murdering real-life local businesswoman, assuming her identity….
Recently uncovered information shows Smiths Station Mayor F.L. "Bubba" Copeland wrote erotic fiction about murdering a real-life local business owner to steal her life, as well as posting pictures of other locals with explicit commentary without their consent.
Copeland posted at least four pieces of fiction to a website over time. After 1819 News spoke with Copeland, the profile responsible for publishing the stories was deleted. However, former posts can still be viewed using online software.
In one short story, Copeland, who owns a local grocery store, wrote about watching women in-store security cameras and saving the videos for this "private collection."
In another long-form fictional story posted under Copeland's pseudonym, Brittini Blaire, the narrator becomes obsessed with a real-life local business owner, who he ultimately murders to assume her identity. For the sake of the woman's privacy, 1819 News has provided a copy of the fictional story with names and other identifying information redacted….
